GunnerofLife
I play at 52% and I wanted to compare myself to you guys, because I think 52 is low. Even worse, in Morrowind, I can only play at max, -42%! So the question stands: What difficulty do you guys play?
Rennn
I generally keep it on normal (50%?), and if the game gets too easy on normal it doesn't bother me much because I always play Oblivion more for the exploration than the combat.
Brittainy
50% for me too. Don't think I ever bothered to change it  Might have to tinker with it a bit...though I must admit, it's always seemed fine as it is. Like Renn, I'm more interested in the exploration than the fights. 50% seems like a fair balance. Just want to shoot my enemies with my custom and very deadly bow and move on.
WarRatsG
Depends how I want to play :) I usually played at about 60%, but then I decided to crank it up to 100 on a new character. Insanely difficult, not even fair. My strategy for surviving was just to summon something and turn invisible. I managed to do all right and eventually it wasn't such a problem any more. The next character I made was on about 40% difficulty so that I could learn all skills and not have to specialise. That was all before I got mods though. :P
Ghoulz
About 60-70%. Die 4x as faster than they do. That was when I was using custom spells that deal massive damage though. Still toke a lot of casts to kill though. I think this is a little too extreme for a fighter or hand to hand specialist. I remember smashing a wolf with a 2-hander and it's health was barely going down. The weapon was from a mod.... and it was about twice as powerful as vanilla weapons :psyduck: I made rings that add regeneration, shield, and such to even things out a little. Plain old Bandits give me trouble. Mages and Conjurers are just plain scary. I use nerfed companions to drag on fights.
GunnerofLife
Huh. For some reason, I'd expected you guys to play around 80% or something :\ Guess 52% is decent enough. 100% is just impossible, to me.
macole
I run difficulty at around 75% to compensate for the fact that I travel Cyrodiil with 3 - 5 lady companions. An Elf Lord goes nowhere without his Ladies. They just don't trust him.
RazaCovek
90%, but I don't need to fight as I made maximizing atribute Personality my priority [ALL non-scripted npc/creatures like me]. However, my three Choco Elves and Sheela the hobbit, whom I renamed Pikachoo in CS plus their clones - Quadro-twins, are not so lucky. They do the fighting and I just leisurely loot the place. If you set 'Unconscious' in Bash tweak to five minutes, they will 'follow' you around as tightly bound packages, except Xenthia, who morphs into a Walking Stick like creature glued to the ceiling. Awevalan
I have built a character to level 20 or so on 100% but it isn't easy and archery/magic become your best friends until about level 15 and even then if the enemy is near your level, cut and run because they can kill you in a few hits...a mudcrab can kill you in the very beginning in about 2 hits and it will take you about 10-50 arrows or that many hits with a sword to kill it. GunnerofLife
So, basically, to even be able to play from 90%-100%, you either got to be a ranged fighter and/or have companions?
