IceKK
Just put together a new computer about at month ago. gtx 690intel i7 3770k16gb ram my problem is that my skyrim initially ran great, but now gets periods of weird heavy lag, stutters a lot, and artifacting. i know it isn't mod related, as it pretty clearly looks like hardware problems. The computer acts like it is overclocked and therefore overheating and artifacting. But temps are not that high? absolut max i have seen graphics card is 74c. CPU max is about 45 i think. I have a lot of cooling and nothing is overclocked. Anyone have an idea what can be causing this? PLEASE PLEASE HELP sorry about my english EDIT:And it is getting worse and worse. More and more artifacting and lag. Someting seems broken? Edited July 23, 2012 by IceKK
Georgiegril
The problem you describe can be related to problems from the driver install. When I updated my drivers, I had almost exactly those same issues--crazy overclocking I never crated, lags, spikes, all kinds of crazy stuff like my computer was possessed. NVidia changed the way to properly update the drivers, but they don't tell you unless you read their installation readme, which no one does. Check out this site and it will tell you how to fix it (even if you don't have EVGA-manufactured drivers). It is a bit of reading but totally worth it. I have been playind all my other games perfectly aswell. But have now also seen flickering grass in BF3. Still, skyrim keeps the medal for crazy artifacting and weird performance.
