Grimn358 Posted July 24, 2012 Share Posted July 24, 2012 I've always thought Delphine's little basement hideaway was a bit plain for a secret agent of the Blades, dedicated to serve the Dragonborn and defeat Alduin, preventing the End Times. I mean, come on, it's just one little room with some weapons and some potions/ingredients. But only recently has it crossed my mind that I should make a mod to make the hideout fit for a Dragonborn. Not a palace or anything, just a place to sleep, cook, brew some potions, plan attacks, and lie low as the Thalmor hunt you and the Blades down. Unfortunately, my modding capability include making an NPC and placing it in the game. I can't even figure out dialogue, let alone remodel a vanilla building. This is, of course, all just a suggestion and it might never go noticed. But to modders out there who might be interested, I'd just suggest not to make it a god home, with a million mannequins, weapon racks, chests, or resources (ore, etc.). Maruke Posted November 17, 2019 Share Posted November 17, 2019 I absolutely agree with this. Why would Delphine, a fugitive and Master Blade, not have a better hiding hole. Where is her escape if her hideout is discovered. I would think that she would have a better hideout, but also be acting as a Harriet Tubman type smuggler for Blade survivors. In her efforts to keep the Blades viable, wouldn't she recruit where she could, train the worthy to be ready when the call arises? Her bartender would likely be one of these recruis with a deep devotion to her (son, nephew, etc) because he'd have to know her secret and be trusted to keep it. That room with the secret entance is not protected from patrons just wandering in there, really? In fact, to be successful, she would have to have eyes and ears around Riverwood and the other towns and city's throughout Skyrim. I have some thoughts on changing the layout and purpose of the building, but no idea how to build it. To me, the Inn, the bartender, and Delphine always seemed to be wasted potential. A small unguarded basement in an inn with little more than a table and chests and a few weapon racks hardly seems fitting for a secret Blades agent hiding out from the Thalmor.
