well considering some games dont really get much of a boost with CFX, and in fact, many dont support and even have trouble when run on a system with CFX, this might not be the best of ideas. just throwing that out there. i dont expect you to reconsider since your a stubborn old (young) coot, but haha yea. just lettin you know.

also if you go soo much money you should lend some to me so i can FINALLY build my PC! ;) lol

Coming from experience yes you do get a performance gain from sli or crossfire, its just a matter of opinion and experience.. I would go crossfire or sli any day, it is worth it. trust me, especially in Crysis or any heavy gpu driven games.:teehee:

I get great Scaling with Crossfire in Skyrim. Full utilization across both Chips on Radeon 6990.

Tri-Fire is another issue though. The third card, no matter the config goes entirely unused, no matter the profiles used. This is because AMD disables 3 card support in their App profiles for Skyrim. As for general performance, it varies. It usually takes AMD/Nvidia some time to get good working drivers out for new games, and often longer for multi-gpu setups. That being said I love my 6990.
