How to itendify item slot?

Hi, I am using a lot of armour/clothing mods. Is there a way to determine the item slots of each item? It is quite frustrating having bought one item, but then discovered it that there's a conflict with the current item that I am now using. Thanks! By the way, how many item slots are available? Is there any mod that allows us to change the item slot easily?

1. There is no normal way to identify an item slot - you may put it on and see what is removed, you may check in the CS, and sometimes (quite often) the slots are written in accessories' names by mod authors. Such as "Horns [t]".

2. There are slots: weapon, shield, arrow, body, legs, gloves, boots, head, amulet, ring, ring, tail. Those are not the only ones, but others are face slots and do not allow to equip anything in the game. Equipping anything in the tail slot hides tails for khajiit and argonians - as well as any other custom tailed races. There are quite a lot of items that occupy more than one slot, modded items included.

3. Never heard of such a mod and I doubt it's possible. You may use CS if you need that, changing slots with it is rather easy, though not ingame.

But there is an in-game mod which is a pot that changes the Amulet slot to the Tail slot or vice versa. The pot is found in the waterfront district, but the name of the mod is escaping me, anyone?

That would be the mod "Amulet converter" http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=13007 .

A handy mod to have, especially if using a race with limited usable slots like I'm using lately.
