killerjax
First off, Hi! New to the forums  Im sure youve guessed that though! Anywhoo, I just started my second playthrough on Skyrim and am doing a Conj build with a few difficulty mods installed. Im new to magic using and the only real magic spell i ever used was Heal. Anyway, i just wanted to know if this is a bug or not. Everytime i equip a spell, i keep getting a persistant sound until i sheathe it. Its like an endless loop. For example, the flame spell loops between its unsheathe and sheathe sound as long as i have it equipped. Ive tried reinstalling and all that good stuff (even removing all mods and changing the sound setting accordingly). This happens for every spell. It might be just me but i went on youtube and watched some lets plays and noticed that the sound i hear is not on the video. Its like a swoooosh----chaaaa sound. I think ive tried everything Google has had to offer me and still no fix :wallbash: The sound is driving me crazy!!!! Is there a way to fix this or is this completely normal? If so... How the hell do you mages live through it
thompsonar
It's certainly not normal. Don't really know how to help you fix it though. But someone probably can. You may want to provide the answers to the following questions just to help someone else help you. -what's your operating system?-have you updated video/audio drivers?-what sound card are you using?-version of skyrim?-mod list?-how are you mods installed (manually, nmm, wryebash)?-have you started a new character and encountered the same problem?-when you reinstalled did you physically delete the game/save folders after uninstalling?-have you tried using steam to verify file integrity? If you haven't done some of those things you may want to try them and see if they fix anything. In the meantime you can always turn down the sound effects volume. It may take away from the experience but it will give you temporary relief.
xlcr
@killerjax, hi, its alittle difficult to identify exactly which stuck sound fx you're referring to.'swoooosh----chaaaa' lol.anyway, i'm guessing you might have the Elemental Fury sound bug maybe, check this youtube. i use a permanent fix from a mod that simply replaces the default Elemental Fury sound fx wav file with a (loose file) silent version.Elemental Fury - Sound BUG - Solution by 1GurU9 - http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/

killerjax
I actually found a fix for it. It was a sound file :psyduck: The bug is the sheathing and unsheathing sound from your spells. It becomes a never ending loop everytime you have spells out. And its quite loud. Now i have this problem [07/27/2012 - 12:15:14AM] error: Unable to call RegisterForAnimationEvent - no native object bound to the script object, or object is of incorrect typestack: [None].DCAbEnemyMagEffLocDamScript.RegisterForAnimationEvent() - "<native>" Line ? xlcr
@killerjax, hi, so whatcha do? lol. just wondering if you manually deleted/replaced sound fx files that usually play when you ready/unready a spell?i'm guessing you installed a mod that was supposed to fix your sound issue. script file 'DCAbEnemyMagEffLocDamScript.psc' is probably from a mod (i don't see this in any regular BSA archive).i'm guessing that script is looking for sound fx files that you or a mod may have changed/deleted or the script is bugged or the mod is not installed correctly maybe? if this is from a mod, check the comments section of that mod for any reports of issues.it would help if you told us what mod you installed if you're looking for help. :turned:

It was experimental but it worked :P Oh and these are the mods i use http://vvcap.net/db/RBQKuKA3OJJLqDGENUS4.png Edited July 27, 2012 by killerjax
xlcr
@killerjax, ok cool, noticed you've reported your script issue in the Deadly Combat mod comments thread. As you know, loose files+folders located in '\Skyrim\Data\sound' usually belong to mods; but, it seems you said you've extracted the various sound BSA's into there which should be ok if you were careful. Back to your original problem, for what its worth, i use this silent wav file replacement fix to remove the annoying constant high pitch sound of equipped in-hand healing spells.Silent healing spells equipped by Moeder - http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/691If you can identify exactly which sound wav is constantly playing as a loop, you might be able to replace it (rename/swap)with the version from this mod. That was the first mod i turned to after realising it was an actual problem. It seems that in my case, having the default sounds in the game along with the sound BSA causes some sort of conflict. But this error is taken care off as of now. The new annoying thing im getting is that script thing. You might be getting at somethign with the sound thing, maybe if i reinstall and leave the sound folder untouched and see how that goes. If the error still persists, then i guess il have to use a different combat mod :( sadly :ohdear:
