cumbrianlad
Hi. I have a Dwarven ruin that has 1 external cell and many internal cells. There are 3 main interiors. The final interior cell is an epic green cave with a load of entrances to dwemer farmhouses, a tower and a main hall. My issue is that I want to assign 3 different encounter zones to the 3 main interior areas, getting harder as the player progresses deeper via load doors to the next area, but I don't know how to best do this. here's what I mean... First area: Dwethand, encounter zone 'DwethandZone01' set for minimum level 8 (for entrance hall cell and small cave cell)Second area: Chend-dwethand, encounter zone 'DwethandZone02' set for minimum level 16 (for a system of caves and cave halls)Third area: Dwethand-Zel, encounter zone 'DwethandZone03' set for minimum level 24 (for epic cave and all subsidiary buildings accessed from it) If I have a single location, as is the norm for Skyrim, can I assign a separate encounter zone to each area? If I do, I have no clue as to whether to leave the 'location' for each zone set to 'none', or assign them all to the 'Dwethand' location. Set up for this as follows... First area: Location 'Dwethand'. Encounter zone 'Dwethandzone01', location for encounter zone set to 'NONE' or 'Dwethand' ?Second and third areas: as above but encounter zones 'DwethandZone02' and 'DwethandZone03' respectively. Same question about locations for these zones, do I leave them set to 'NONE' or assign the 'Dwethand' location to them both. Alternatively, I wondered about using three separate locations for the interiors and having the 'Dwethand' location as their parent. I could then assign the location for each encounter zone to its respective child location. So the set up is as follows... First area: Location 'Dwethand01', parent location 'Dwethand'. Encounter zone 'DwethandZone01', location for zone 'Dwethand01'.Second Area: Location 'Dwethand02', parent location 'Dwethand'. Encounter zone 'DwethandZone02', location for zone 'Dwethand02'.Third area: Location 'Dwethand03', parent location 'Dwethand'. Encounter zone 'DwethandZone03', location for zone 'Dwethand03'. Does anyone know which way to go, or is this just a no-no that will break the way quests etcetera are handled by the game engine and story manager? I can't find any tutorials about this anywhere... they all just describe the standard one location, one zone scenario.
