Hi all.

I have not yet even started New Vegas to this day, so this will be my first run through it after i completed F3.

What i wonder is if there are any "must have" list of mods so you boosts the game experience from day 1.

In Skyrim, there are more or less a mod for a mod for modding the mod after it has been modded.....by a mod... Well you get my point. They are plentiful.

I feel that i want to play the game soon, but i do not want to be sitting around just adding tons of mods and alterations just to find there is another one out there after three weeks that´s more or less forcing me to restart my game yet again. I tend to do this if a new mod arrives that makes me feel like i have been playing in a form of "easy mode" when there now is a mod that makes what not more changeling.

What i do feel is more my thing in this game is for adding a few mods with more weight to them and to fix the graphics as well.

A short wishlist of content would be

1: Realism ( All from loot, economy, encounters etc. )

2: Weather improvements such as storms, rain wind and basically more noticeable weather systems in game.

3: Graphics & Sound ( Anything that improves. )

4: Fighting system and survival system. ( Really want to camp outdoors if possible and feel like you are living in this post apocalypse world. )

5: On and on and on...

I want a more complex and fulfilling game...so what to i look for?

Thank you all and have a lovely day.

Here's some mods I recommend:

1. Project Nevada, IMCNNV, Arwen Realism Tweaks, DFB Random Encounters

2. Project Reality MkI OR Nevada Skies Don't use both. It will crash your game.

3. EVE, WRP, NMC's Textures, POCO BUENO Texture Pack, DYNAVISION, Enhanced Blood Textures, ISFX

4. Same as 1.

5. Some other mods I recommend: NVInteriors, AWOP, Weapon Mods Expanded, The Strip Open, More Perks

Thank you for adding to this!

Also...my friend told me something about a HD texture pack at about 8 gb. Is that one compatible with the mods mentioned here?

What i am most eager to get for my first run is the best graphics and anything that adds to the roleplaying immersion.

I am not one that rushes through a game, so anything that gives you a more living in the land feeling is on the hot wishlist. Also, i am against anything that is "cheating" such as featherweight on gear...more bagspace....better guns or such.

Also...Can anyone comment on how the harcdore mode works? As i understand it, you need to drink and feed etc...but i am not sure how it works...or if it´s more of a flawed feature that none uses.

Hardcore does add a bit of realism; you have to carry some purified water and some brahmin steaks, ammo has weight, companions can die, stimpacks/radaway heal over time.

I would suggest a HUD system to keep track of it. I personally like this one that combines several together.

Instead of using the flashlight though, I just changed my pipboy light to make it brighter....with Nevada Skies it gets pretty dark at night where you need one to get around.

I just installed the NMC´s texturepack but i had to do it without mod manager because file 1 was the only one that would download...the others just broke several times over.

Lastly i was to activate the Archive invalidation thing, and that went well ( did this in the MM )... But then i was a bit lost. I tried to activate the mod in MM, but i just got an error message. Is this file in the modlist this just scraps left from when i tried to download the texture pack and only got the 1 part? When booting up the game, the NMC texturepack is written on the screen so i guess it´s activated....but i am not sure i missed anything. Seems like it works...
