AlbinoPolarBear
I just installed the NMC´s texturepack but i had to do it without mod manager because file 1 was the only one that would download...the others just broke several times over. Lastly i was to activate the Archive invalidation thing, and that went well ( did this in the MM )... But then i was a bit lost. I tried to activate the mod in MM, but i just got an error message. Is this file in the modlist this just scraps left from when i tried to download the texture pack and only got the 1 part? When booting up the game, the NMC texturepack is written on the screen so i guess it´s activated....but i am not sure i missed anything. Seems like it works...Check out Gopher's installation guide. It shows you how to install both NMC Texture Pack and Poco Bueno Texture Pack as well as some other graphics mods.

Interesting that you should mention Gopher just now when i found him and was amazed on how easy his videos is to understand  After some pondering on how i should get going with my modding...i went along and looked into Gopher´s vids on youtube and indeed also the one you mentioned above. I deleted my game and all the mods i had scratched together in what i thought was a "solid enough way" and took it step by step. To any of you out there wanting to get going with modding your game...this is the man to watch and learn from. In two days, i have gotten so much understanding in the general ways of how you mod and why some things happen such as bad load-orders or the importance of masterfiles to a plugin. Thumbs up for you Gopher and i will be using your tips for both NV and Skyrim... Keep up the awesome work!
thariir
Is it overkill or just a matter of taste if you only download mods with Nexus or with FOMM and Nexus as well? Some mods only have manual download and others both....so how "bad" or "good" is it to use both?

A lot of mods are not packaged correctly, or there are optional files that you will likely miss. I also like to look at everything to see what it does and which other mods it might affect and verify paths before I install it.

Since i started using FOMM and Nexus and not just putting things in my data folder and hoping for the best...things actually work  Captain Obvious arrives  Just wondering if there is any major difference in using only FOMM or only Nexus as to using them both. EDIT:In short... If i have a mod installed through FOMM, do i need to install it as well with Nexus for any reason? Thing is i did the NV ultimate edition videos first and only found the Mod clinic at video 7. This means i have a few mods missing in FOMM that are in the Nexus only. Will this cause any problems? blove
The right hand would not know what the left hand has done. If you install a mod using NMM that overwrites files of a mod installed by FOMM and then come back and uninstall the FOMM mod...the files would not revert to those of the NMM installed mod. thariir
So far it seems to work. No errors, no problems and i have started the game after all mods installed one by one and gotten the info that it has been installed etc and i see all the configuration-menus etc as well. Worst of all is knowing if an older mod will be useful later on after another new "tadaa" mod has arrived. Btw...a question. It´s regarding using both NMM and FOMM. I took a bit of a break in modding NV and started modding Skyrim from the start again. Is it true that you need to uninstall FOMM if you are going to mod another game with Nexus? That would be sad due to that all Fallout mods would go down the drain...but is there any truth in this and is it also vice versa?
blove
You should use a different Mod Directory and Install Info directory for FOMM if you also use NMM. If they both use the same directory, NMM makes some changes that FOMM cannot handle.

If they both use the same directory, NMM makes some changes that FOMM cannot handle. I can see the logic in that, but then again after about 60 mods i have not encountered even one problem and i use both Nexus and FOMM. Perhaps it´s just luck. The only "issue" i can think of when switching to mod another game as Skyrim...is that the .bsa files in the data folder has FOMM icons on them. Any idea? I really feel like continuing learning to mod both games and also play them. Not really keen on having to uninstall one. EDIT: Apparently when the Nexux MM was in beta you needed to uninstall the FOMM or the package manager could be messed up due to that the two programs would fight each other over the managing. Is it still so or has this been fixed so you can keep modding 2 games simultaneously? Edited August 6, 2012 by thariir
blove
You would be the only one. BSAs associated with FOMM is not a problem.
