DaredevilGR
I know that since my first game in the franchise was Oblivion , I cannot be considered an experienced player , but again , I think I have enough experience to analyze the way that Bethesda is creating games so far . I understand that making a RPG world is quite the feat , but the ignorance of the daedra spawns who are known by the name "developers" today is really making me crazy . I will go deep on that in a few lines . First , I would like to make my point clear ... Bethesda is creating games in a conservative way so that not only the buyers won't become bored fast and downgrade the game but there will also be a visible way to improve the game itself . In other words , Bethesda studios is leaving faults behind or unfinished content ON PURPOSE . As a result , these faults are an easy fix for future games . Bethesda is a master of Ilusion magic . To prove the previous theory , I challenge you to take a small part of the entire game in Oblivion and watch it grow . You can realise that there are details added but there are also GAPS left wide open . And , what a surprise , these gaps are filled in the next release and so on . IT IS A TOTALLY DIFFERENT THING TO FORGET AN IMPORTANT PART , THAN LEAVING IT OUTSIDE OF THE GAME ON PURPOSE , JUST SO THAT YOU CAN ENABLE IT LATER AS A PLAN-B IN CASE YOU RUN OUT OF IDEAS . In the end the game comes out half , combat system ruined , few quests working and a small part of them are really worth playing , magic is limited in spells , shouts are also limited , weapons are also limited , uniques give a fake exotic taste and the artificial intelligence can't f*cking understand a thing . Furthermore the buyer is forced to follow X paths in the game , cannot make personal choices and almost always have to suffer the consequences of the stupidity of ingame characters . Sorry Bethesda but I want to save the Brotherhood (how the hell Maro got the pass-phrase anyway) and NO , NO , NO , I do not want to command the companions , the college , the thieves guild , the dark brotherhood , the Imperial Legion as a Legate while I try to kill Alduin and his stupid allies who can die by an essential peasant with a fork -NO! A SPOON- . So the developers release a game which is destined to leave gaps , just to be filled later on . However the worst thing is that they forget these gaps . As a result , not only they choose the combination of good-better-better than better - etc than the great-great-great-... combination , but they also make no progress . Two of the biggest gaps in the game are the hated combat system which could look a lot better and the A.I . For this reason there are so many mods out there , All things concluded , If Bethesda was to make a great game , then the nexus should be empty of mods that improve it . Since the mods exist , Bethesda should learn to act better towards their customers . PS > For you praising the Creation Kit , I do not doubt that it is good , but it seems to me that Bethesda sent us a clear message saying us : This is our baby-game . Now clear the cr@p out of it . luzburg
Sorry what? Most of that was ridiculous lol. Bethesda make open world RPGs, you don't have to be in the companions if you don't want to be.As for the pass phrase.... pay attention to the quest, thats more or less explained. gsmanners
... For you praising the Creation Kit , I do not doubt that it is good , but it seems to me that Bethesda sent us a clear message saying us : This is our baby-game . Now clear the cr@p out of it . I view it more like: Bethesda: Here! THIS is what we have to use to make this game! You see? This... THING is why it takes so long to fix the game! Modders: ... For anyone rolling their eyes, just try making a house mod of your own and then navmesh it. Go on. I dare you. ;D
breakwind
You have 2 easy choices. Either play the game or don't. I think Bethesda make wonderful games full of choices and nobody has to follow a certain path..you can be any type of character you want. You can be an alchemist, for example, and never touch any of the main quests other than Helgen...if you so choose
Blu02
Meh, haters gonna hate. If it wasnt a great game then what are we doing here in this massive community, making bazillions of mods every day? Sure it has its flaws, just like any other game. But there's obviously something really great about it since so many of us spend hundreds of hours playing and modding it. If you want to complain about Bethesda, then aim your anger on their recent comment about the DLC; "We have not announced Dawnguard for any other platform, nor given any timeline for any such news. If we have any news, i promise i'd tell you" Now THAT's some serious trolling right there
Joshico
I'm rather irritated by that Dawnguard stunt, but heck 30 days have passed, so I'm used to the waiting. Only thing that bug me was "What the hell they did during the 30 days?? Hopefully prepping up Dawnguard but still... :( "
fms1
What people fail to realize about all of this is, yes the English ver. just past the 30 day mark, but the FIGS (French, Italian, German, and Spanish) ver. came out a week or two after, so for those the 30 days aren't up yet. And there was a link Scorch621 posted on page 6 in the Skyrim Nexus News thread (http://videogameswriter.blogspot.co.uk/2012/07/bethesdas-pete-hines-says-not-so-fast.html) about what Pete Hines said about no news yet, the important part is the second part where he clarifies what he meant, "I was simply stating that expecting/demanding something today is unfounded. Not that news is never coming."
gsmanners
Only thing that bug me was "What the hell they did during the 30 days?? Hopefully prepping up Dawnguard but still... :( " They're busy working on Hearthfire, of course.
RazaCovek
I think what he is saying is similar to George Lucas' continuos re-release of Starwars Trilogy with updates or Avatar then Director's Cut with twenty minutes added.
DaredevilGR
I am not a hater and I do not hate Bethesda . I love the games but in my topic I post the negatives that I believe exist . I am not talking about character variation neither . I just believe that there are many many things that could be fixed , even by a simple patch . Of course there are things that can only be intergrated in a new game ... Moreover , I do not hate modders , on the contrary I think that they are the reason that the PC community is still so much active . Finally , my point was that Bethesda has all the experience to vastly improve game aspects like combat and A.I dramatically . However they don't . Instant-Edit : I just hate how money comes above everything else Edited July 28, 2012 by DaredevilGR
