LordSarcasm
Ok, I've finally finished my first follower and he actually works like he's supposed to, except for one thing, how can you get your followers to unlock doors for you? The DB Assassins can do it, so why not history's most famous thief (i.e. Robin Hood)?
kryptopyr
Three things... 1) Make sure your follower's morality is set to Property Crime (or higher). 2) They need to actually have some lockpicks in their inventory. I'm not sure, but I think they will use one lockpick each time they pick a lock. 3) Their lockpicking skill needs to match the level of the lock or higher. An NPC's lockpicking skill depends on their class. Take a look at this page. If there isn't at least a 1 in the lockpicking column, then you'll want to assign your follower to a different class (or create a new class for them) or else their lockpicking skill will never advance past 15. An NPC has to have a lockpicking skill greater than 25 in order to pick apprentice locks, 50 or greater for adept locks, 75 or greater for expert locks, and 100 for master locks.
