HCT export - no _DATA_ in .xml

im using max 2014, and HCT 2014.1.0-ru.

 

im trying to export a hkx with data for my custom ragdoll bones, but when i export there is no "_DATA_" section in the xml. does anyone know why this is? it doesnt seem to matter what i tick in the prune types filter in hct, every time the file contains no data section.

I created a chain of 3 max bones, and created a "hub and rb chain" using hct autopilot tools. deleted the max bones, linked the nub hirarchy to the RHand bone on the vanilla skeleton. and clicked "ready all RB to export".

I created the skeleton... following the skyrim hdt ragdoll hair tutrorials on youtube - the tutorial says only to add the hub bones not the ragdoll capsules, so here i have only marked the actual bones.

i have also tried experimenting by building the skeleton from shade animators F4AK human3rd rig.txt and my own custom rig.txt, but i havent had any success either way...

if anyone would be kind enough to check over my work and see where ive gone wrong i would really appreciate it :)

with so little documentation out there im really flying blind on this one.

Update*

 

I can't seem to recreate a vanilla hkx from hct. And I think it might be the hct version I'm using (1.0) I think the 0.5 version did allow me to export a full hkx, but 0.5 is not compatible with hkxpack, and copy/pasting the header lines from a vanilla hkx doesn't correct the version issue...

 

I'll do more testing later, I'll reinstall an earlier version of hct and see if there's a difference...

But if I can export with 0.5 it'll do no good because I have read that fallout can only work with 1.0, so unless there is a 0.5 -> 1.0 hkx converter out there (I've looked, and there isn't) then I'm stuck exporting empty hkx files with no way to proceed.

 

I was told about a workaround by Vader6666 - where bones from the new hkx can be copied into a vanilla hkx - but that won't work for nifs and outfits that don't have a vanilla hkx obviously, and if I can't nail this export procedure then I won't have any bones to copy from anywhere...

 

Does anyone know how to export ragdoll bones in a hkx??
