A simple and brilliant way of making useless clutter objects in the game realistically useful, for this particular case: buffing the Alchemy skill. Please check it out. Perhaps something like this could be made here in Skyrim?

Here are two ideas for adding a tiny bit of immersion to the Smithy. preferably for those who are skilled with scripting. (Assigning character inventory checking scripts to objects.)
In Skyrim, ore veins cannot be worked unless you have a pickaxe in your character's pack/inventory at that time. Likewise for the chopping block without a woodcutting axe, so this simple fact led to:........

Idea #1:
Why should the forge and workbench likewise not be 'locked up and utterly useless' without simple, lightweight and portable "Blacksmith's Hammer" and "Tongs" (aforementioned useless clutter) in your pack/inventory? sold at reasonably low prices by all vanilla smiths and "general-store vendors". (It's hard to work without proper tools, isn't it?)

Idea#2:
The Titled Request: A matched but widely scattered and deeply hidden set of valuable, enchanted "Smidur's Gear": (Smidur is Old Norse for smith) Rare, reasonable, light-weight and NON-godly-enchanted hammer, tongs, gloves, and apron, all scattered in existing boss chests all over the map, well hidden and protected by really nasty things that will cordially invite you to lunch.......their's. Mouhahahaha!

They would reasonably buff both your smithing AND enchanting skills making them quite handy. Once you collect all four, you'd get the enchantments not just stacked, but also some extra complete-set bonus buff, also related to weapon and armour crafting and enchanting. You'd need to WEAR the gloves and apron, (during smithing only) as well as keeping the hammer and tongs in your pack/inventory to get the effects.

This would encourage even Master Smiths and Enchanters to keep this "clutter" gear.
I would really prefer that this "Smidur's Gear" be safely NON-disenchantable, just in case.

I hope that all of this sounds immersive, rational and logical, without being too tedious.
