Guest Johny Spoonfinger
Hi everyone. I've just started to learn the basics of the TES Construction Set and I'd like to start making a Total Conversion for the game. I know it isn't easy, but I really want to give it a try. So far, I've made myself an error filled Blank ESP. How can I fix these errors? Secondly, how can I add Morrowind, Tribunal and Bloodmoon's resources into the ESP? What other things do I need to have set up before I can begin creating the world, adding NPCs, Beasties and Quests? Any help would be most appreciated :) Cheers. Guest Johny Spoonfinger
By the way, I'm not slack. :) I have checked out this thread before:http://mwsource.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=6637 However It didn't really help me a great deal. What is discussed here is mainly "What to do" rather than "How to do it".
Guest Johny Spoonfinger
Update I figured out for myself how to add resources to the game. But I still don't really understand what needs to be done to make TESCS happy and fix those errors. :help:
Rune
I've just started to learn the basics of the TES Construction Set and I'd like to start making a Total Conversion for the game. That's your problem right there. It's hard for people to make mods, much less total conversions. And being a newbie at it and going at the project alone... well... *laughs*. So far, I've made myself an error filled Blank ESP.Total Conversions require ESM's. A blank ESP will do nothing. Anyways, what errors are you getting, exactly? Edit: Instead of triple-posting you can always just edit your first post. ;)
Wookiee
Total Conversions require ESM's. A blank ESP will do nothing.actualy this isent true tc's in the end are usualy esm's but they are esp's all the way untill the verry end (you could even leave it as an esp if you liked it would work just as well exept when it came time for ppl to make mods for your TC) so yeah blank esp is a good first step check the warnings txt and see what is missing in it and add those things :)

Guest Johny Spoonfinger
Cheers to everyone for trying to help me so far. That's your problem right there. It's hard for people to make mods, much less total conversions. And being a newbie at it and going at the project alone... well... *laughs*. I see your point for sure, but I wouldn't call myself a total newbie. I've used plenty of editors in the past (e.g. QERadiant, UnrealED etc.). I just need a little help getting used to TESCS. For starters... Here are the error dialogs I run into when opening my blank ESP: 6x********************************************Animation group note problem. See Warnings.txt file. Continue running executable?******************************************** ********************************************Need to add a generic sound for the default left foot. Continue running executable?******************************************** ********************************************Need to add a generic sound for the default right foot. Continue running executable?******************************************** ********************************************Need to add a foot sound called "FootBareLeft". Continue running executable?******************************************** ********************************************Need to add a foot sound called "FootBareRight". Continue running executable?******************************************** ********************************************Need to add a foot sound called "FootLightLeft". Continue running executable?******************************************** ********************************************Need to add a foot sound called "FootLightRight". Continue running executable?******************************************** ********************************************Need to add a foot sound called "FootMedLeft". Continue running executable?******************************************** ********************************************Need to add a foot sound called "FootMedRight". Continue running executable?******************************************** ********************************************Need to add a foot sound called "FootHeavyLeft". Continue running executable?******************************************** ********************************************Need to add a foot sound called "FootHeavyRight". Continue running executable?******************************************** ********************************************Need to add a foot sound called "FootWaterLeft". Continue running executable?******************************************** ********************************************Need to add a foot sound called "FootWaterRight". Continue running executable?******************************************** Sorry to bore you all with the technicalities. But I think I understand what almost all of them mean. Besides the "Animation group note" problem, they're all telling me to add sound effects to the plugin. How can you add sound effects? Also, what does the Animation group note problem refer to? What do I need to add to fix this? P.S. Instead of triple-posting you can always just edit your first post. ;) Thanks for that. :D
Wookiee
there is a sound tab on the editor sound gen and sounds you want to add these both of them have a look at the morrowind esm and see what sounds it uses ect and just fudge them that way if you like another problem you will come up to is the VFX again have a look at the morrowind.esm for tips on this (thats how i figured all this out was the morrowind.esm and the warnings.txt)
hundinman
It would be a good idea to make a thread in the Team Recruitment forum and try to get a team. I am too busy to help, but there may be some people out there who would like to assist you on your T.C. A T.C. would take a very long time for an advanced modder let alone a newbie. So, getting a team would be a good start. Also, once you have a team, get a website from a free hoster so that you can work on your project on private forums without taking up a lot of space here. (my 2 cents)
