Moving a managed game to another drive

I have Fallout 3 from Steam (Windows 10), which I transferred over from Nexus Mod Manager to Vortex. It didn't run.

 

I tried to eliminate Vortex as a possible source by re-installing FO3 clean.

 

Still didn't run, so the basic game won't work.

 

After reading some of the Steam forum on FO3, I bought the GOG version, since a lot of people report it as being better patched (and it was on sale).

 

I would like to install it and uninstall the Steam version, then use Vortex on it.

 

However I would like to install it on a different drive - Steam is on C:, I would like to use F: for the GOG version as that is where my other GOG games are.

 

As I understand it, the mod folder and the game have to be on the same drive (otherwise it can't create the hard links).

 

Is there a method for moving a managed game to another drive?
