gsmanners
I've been playing around with the factions, lately (as I always invariably do in these Bethesda games). Once again, it works just like it always does. The codes are a little different. For those of you who don't know anything about this or are new to this system, here's how it works: player.addfac 39f26 0 The above code would make you a member of the Thalmor (39f26) faction. The 0 is rank (which starts at 0 and goes up). If you supply -1 instead of 0, that should remove you from that faction. To make addfac work on a specific NPC, go to console mode, click on the NPC and then use addfac. Another way to change how factions work is to use setally or setenemy. This changes how entire groups of people see each other. For example: setally db1 34b74 The above would make any member of the player faction (db1) an ally of the necromancer faction (34b74). To make them just friendly rather than allies: setally db1 34b74 1 1 Obviously, factions will affect all combat situations, so use them carefully. Here are some of the more interesting factions: db1 Player Faction 91822 Player Werewolf 1bcc0 Bandits 32d9c Dragons 43599 Forsworn 2997e Falmers 26724 Warlocks 34b74 Necromancers 27242 Vampires 39f26 Thalmor 2e893 Predators 2e894 Prey Note that Predators include: Bears, Chaurus, Sabre Cats, Spiders, and Wolves. Prey include: Chickens, Cows, Deer, Elk, Goats, Hares, Horkers, Horses, Mudcrabs, and Skeevers. To make individual NPCs (or the player) a friend or ally of one of these particular factions, you should use addfac and one of the following factions created for the purpose: 5a1a4 Player Ally d25a6 Creature Friend 44ef6 Bandit Friend e0cd9 Bandit Ally d263e Predator Friend 24029 Orc Friend e0cda Warlock Ally e0cdb Draugr Ally 19809 Marriage Potential 5c84d Follower Potential The Friend/Ally factions makes certain that everyone involved (not just members of that faction) are on the same page about that NPC's/player's Friend or Ally status. For example, if you make the Player faction allied with the Warlock faction, that would not prevent their atronachs from attacking you. You would have to make yourself a member of their Ally faction to do that. Most friendly NPCs are a member of a particular hold's "crime" faction (a faction used to store information about any crimes committed). These can also work the same as any other faction, except that if you commit a crime there, you can only clear that data with: paycrimegold 0 0 267ea The above example will make you pay off your Whiterun (267ea) bounty. Faction IDs for holds: 267e3 Eastmarch (Windhelm) 267ea Whiterun 2816b The Rift (Riften) 2816c The Reach (Markarth) 2816d Hjaalmarch (Morthal) 2816e The Pale (Dawnstar) 2816f Winterhold 28170 Falkreath 29db0 Haafingar (Solitude) Other interesting factions: eb091 Khajiit Caravans 72fe8 Caravan Merchants 72fe9 Caravan Guards 86eee Guards (in general) c4de0 Player Vampire 4e509 Hunters aa0a4 Silver Hand 2430d Draugrs 330b1 Skeevers 3e094 Spriggans 435a2 Sabre Cat fbbf3 Bears 4359a Giants 435a0 Ice Wraiths 435a1 Trolls
