Game still has me interested

I been building my Ultimate mod list for sooo long now, testing, making patches editing textures etc. I have started over a few times too. One of the most amouts of hours I put in was a patch for several large overhauls including Frost AND Horizon.. I liked elements of both and wanted to use both together and with balance, as well as other large overhauls.. LOL that was ambitious to say the least. I felt I was about 3/4 of the way done and Horizon updated, I realised I would need to check every record I edited and realised I would need to do this for every new update to maintain a balance. Hmmm too much work in the end but I still have the uncompleted patch.

I thought that Metro Exodus might be the game to finally pull me away from this one but on looking at the system requirements, I probably will leave that game for now till I can upgrade. I wanna experience it utilising the better graphics settings as that is apparently one of its stronger selling points. So Its bact to Fallout for now. I just keep spending time building my mod list, lol I plant to actually start playing the game at some point, I just hope it will be fairly stable when I'm done. haha

Hi

If you can play a modded Fallout 4 you should be able to play Metro Exodus.

At 4k I get about the same frame rate with both.

The funny thing about Metro Exodus is that the hit from RTX global illumination is about the same as I got when I first used ENB in Skyrim back in 2013.

To me RTX ray tracing is the new ENB.

hmm thats interesting. thanks 4 the reply.

I only have a 1060 6gb tho. I'm still gaming at 1080p Fallout vanilla I can run no problem at 1440 p but generally keep it at 1080 coz of mods.

I wouldn't even attempt to run metro at 4k with my hardware, I'd rather 1080 with higher lighting/shadow fx etc then higher res.

Sometimes I question myself when I realize I spend more time looking at, working on, or tweaking mods then I do playing the damn game. I keep telling myself I'll play more when I get it the way I want it. Right? I mean, that's the reason I mod, because I want to improve the game, right?

Don't look at me like that! I can stop browsing the nexus anytime I want!

Know the Feeling, mod wise…

I'm currently at around 156 mods, and 14'ish (different sim settlents mods, finaly 'added') mods in the pipe to adjust with the current LO.

Not sure, I usualy end up with only visual mods, only a very small handfull of mods are influencing the actual Gameplay (compagnions, Content mods (Fusion City, Phoenix rising, etc)... )

Now that I - finaly - have played the DLC's, I understand why People wanted mods to make the game harder.

I used to think of Fo4 as 'perfectly balanced' for my game fun… until i owned the DLC and played them…

After nuka world and far Harbor, the Commonwealth seemed so... childishly simple...

By which i mean this:

No PA, 10mm pistol (regular ingame-modded), One can take out ANY 'obstacle' at lvl 71 after those 2 DLCS..

a Horde of super mutants? - No biggie.

a Horde of Feral Ghouls? - Easy.

Legendary mirelurks? is there somethign scratching?

At least that confirms why i was vs. weapon mods that make Gameplay easier.

Now Looking for mods to make Gameplay harder, without making it tedious Survival.
