Dominoes666
Well after extensive searching (is 2 hours extensive?) i came to the conclusion that nobody has made a rifle that fires 12.7mm ammunition, and i think the SMG mechanics in the FO series are a load of bull with their crazy ass spray and the 12.7mm pistol looks silly imo. This leaves me without a way to use this ammo for anything but caps, but that seems like such a waste for bullets of this caliber :'( SO I'm making a request! can anyone make a preferably semi-auto rifle that uses 12.7mm rounds? =D would be super awesome if it had a new model but its not required. If anything i would like it to look like the 'Assault Rifle' assuming that's the one which looks like a H&K G3. Also i am aware that there are a few G3 and FN FAL mods out there, models from either of those guns are great too, preferred in fact (is it not possible to just 're-chamber' them, as it were, in the GECK?) Many thanks and some sausage meat cookies for anyone who can take up this idea :) Love Dominoes. Edited July 30, 2012 by Dominoes666
devinpatterson
There is the Survivalist's rifle from honest hearts. It's a service rifle, uses 12.7mm. Decent firearm, 48 a pop.....was a pain to find if I remember right though.
Dominoes666
Yeah i saw that last time i played through FO:NV, but as you may have guessed, I'm a picky b*stard when it comes to looks and i don't like the look of service rifles either >.<

Tell me what model you'd like and I'll set you up.
Dominoes666
Sorry for the delayed response, That's great news :) If you can use models from FO3 then i would like this model Assault Rifle If not then i guess i would go for the Marksman Carbine Just made those links because i felt like it xD Thanks :)
devinpatterson
OK did the basics, it's ready to go in game. It's stats are the same as the survivalists. It really needs to have twice the diameter for the barrel, some forms list added a new texture, small adventure etc, but those are details I can hit later. It's at this link just open your console (~ key) and type;player.additem xx000ade 1where the xx is the number of the SigArms127carbine.esp in FOMM. I'll update the thread when I finish the details this evening after work.
Dominoes666
Sweet that was quick :P i really ought to learn how to use the GECK. Time to give this gun a test run :P [edit] Gun works great, is it possible to remove the scope? Sorry for being so picky :D i know the marksman carbine without a scope is just similar to the assault carbine, but the model for the marksman is shorter i believe and i just prefer it. The reason for the wanting the scope removed is because i will be mostly using such a gun at close range and would rather have iron sights than the scope. devinpatterson
Sweet that was quick :P i really ought to learn how to use the GECK. Time to give this gun a test run :P If your not changing anything in the actual model, you can get your feet wet with fnvedit. It's a simpler tool than the geck, but it does somethings the geck can't (easily)...plus it seems like a lot of the weapon buffs use it instead. [edit] Gun works great, is it possible to remove the scope? Sorry for being so picky :D No worries, nothing picky about wanting to customize a weapon. Not a problem to take the scope off. i know the marksman carbine without a scope is just similar to the assault carbine, but the model for the marksman is shorter i believe and i just prefer it. The reason for the wanting the scope removed is because i will be mostly using such a gun at close range and would rather have iron sights than the scope. No problem, I'm not sure if iron sights is set up on it, but I'v adjusted sighting nodes in nifskope and blender so I don't foresee any major problems. Dominoes666
Well i guess i'll dig right into fnvedit then, will i still need nifskope and such if i want to create some custom meshes from existing ones? and blender i believe is for making new ones entirely, i've seen one of my friends use that before, got some learning to do :P Also, glad to hear its not too much trouble to remove the scope, i don't want to ask anything too arduous xD Edited July 31, 2012 by Dominoes666

FNVedit is fine for changing values for your weapons (dam, fire rate etc), but cant' do anything with meshes or textures. Nifskope can move around, scale meshes etc, but is very limited in that regard. Blender is what I use for most changes to my meshes. For instance when I changed this model I loaded it into blender and deleted the scope. Then I copied the ridges that were missing under the scope and added them. But you can also use 3Ds Max if you have money burning a hole in your pocket. Gimp or photoshop for textures. So to have iron sights you should really have a rear sight. Did you have one in mind? Maybe check out some of the other guns, the service rifle/assault rifle has one that retains the marksman rifles front sight.....but it's ginormous. There was a new mod killjoy that just went up and has a nice rear sight. But he's using resources from a banned member so that's problematic. Anyway let me know what you decide and I'll add it as well as a sighting node. Here is the download link for the current model (sans sight). PUt the new mesh in a bsa, just unzip both files into your data directory. Edited July 31, 2012 by devinpatterson
