That's a really awkward situation because he didn't exactly get banned so much as he asked them to close his account :/ his Ruger Mini-14 mod that was up for a couple of days disappeared beforehand too.. weird stuff.

Anyhow, as it's not because he uses stolen meshes or anything i don't see what's wrong with using his rear sight? credit given where required and all.

Oh and Asking for his own ban

Ah I see, OK I'll contact him and see if it's ok.

EDIT: Since his account is closed I can't PM him and I don't see the mod so I can't check permissions. The only thing I could do was leave a message in the killjoy thread. Maybe he'll see it.

Bummer if we can't get a reply, guess i should start looking at some other guns and see if i can find a fitting rear sight in the mean time.

[edit] Well i was just stumbling around in game looking at every weapon i could find (I use Project Nevada so there are a ton of weapons, i figured it would be easier to get an idea of the sights if i could actually use them) and i found an Auto-Gauss Rifle with, oddly enough, sights that look like they would fit the gun quite well. here is the mod it was sourced from Classic M72 Gauss Rifle and this is the best screenshot of it imo Down the sights ofc this one means replacing the front sights too and i guess you would have to re-center the iron sights to the cursor or something.

[edit] for future reference when i get to actually making my own weapons, is it possible to take the centering from another weapon? like if i took the sights from the aforementioned gauss rifle could i find whatever it is that centers things like node alignment or whatever and paste it onto the weapon which is using the gauss rifles sights? I don't know if i even got the terms right there, just throwing words together that seem like they would make sense xD

DaiShiHUN wrote back, he's fine with using it.

You can copy a sighting node from another weapon. It'll probably be off unless they are really similar, but you can adjust them.

Bang, bang, it's done.

So I couldn't use DaiShiHUN's sight, since they are radically different (3X as wide as the top ride of the marksman, different vertical heights and other problems), without really tweaking it to a ridiculous extreme. Instead I just put a sighting node on the existing iron sight. I think it turned out pretty accurate here's a headshot;

Here is the link (I'll probably throw it on nexus too).

Have fun burning through the 12.7 ammo.....
