What FPS should I expect with 3D vision on a high end system?

Skyrim, for me, is almost unplayable with nVidia 3D vision due to poor fps. When I'm lucky, I average 18-20 fps

and too often drop down to single digit stutters which is very frustrating and unplayable.

I'm not sure why this is as my system is an ASUS G74S with a GTX570m (3GB vram), 12 GB Ram, i72670QM, and two 750 GB WD 7500 HDDs. I also have about 100 mods installed with Wyre Bash, including many high res text packs and 3D complete compatibiltiy mod, SKSE from the nexus . I've tried disabling all mods and still only get 20 fps on average and still drops down to 13 fps or so when stuttering... This is all while running 1920x1080, 2xAA, 4x AF, Ambient Occlusion off, Vsync off (also tried on). Of course, dropping the resolution helps, but I still experience stuttering problems in certain areas of the game - enough to be very annoying.

Things I've tried include: updating the driver, running windowed mode (marginal success - but strangely causes my system to act very laggy after exiting the game - requiring a restart). Defragged the HDDs. Changed virtually all the nvidia control panel options, Vsync, etc. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the game multiple times. I've followed S.T.E.P. I have also considered RAID 0 and/or an SSD. Have others had success with either of these options when it comes to stuttering problems? On another note, task manager never seems to show Skyrim using more than 1 GB of ram - which seems strange since I'm on windows7 64 with 12 GB of Ram. I know, skyrim is a 32 bit app, but shouldn't I see more than 1 GB over usage in task manager? Theoretically, up to 4 GB?

Basically, I'm out of ideas and ready to give up and go back to 2D, so the game is at least playable. Either that or return my system and get a better one! I bought this thing so I could play Skyrim in 3D

What fps are others getting while running 3d vision on similar systems?

Am I just wanting too much from my system with all the mods AND 3D?

Anyways, any advice would be very much appreciated as I am close to giving up on the 3D - which is a huge bummer cause it adds soooo much to the game!!!

I could have written this, well... if my English was better.

I have exactly the same here. I have tried everything people suggested without luck. My system is a little better(a part from the graphic card) but it doesn't seem to make any difference, 9/23 fps. with an i7 six cores, 16 gbs ram, and gtx 660 2gbs. Solid state HD.

Nobody got back to you, which is not very encouraging for me right now. Did you give up? Or you swapped your system with a computer from NASA?

Could you or would you tell me something nice please? The fact that I spent a great deal of money to play Skyrim in 3d and having to give up really makes me feel stupid, and also makes me wanna cry. I could have gone to holidays instead.

"Am I just wanting too much from my system with all the mods AND 3D?" could well be the case .

have you tried easing the load ,take out those hi-res texture packs even a monster of a system can get choked .

id also try limiting the game to 2 cores i7's are known to be problematic with games due to the threading its said an i5 is better suited.
