Hello wandering wastelanders.

I have no idea, the Fomm i downloaded was from someplace. I thought it was here but i may be wrong and I sorted the files by type so it would match in order so to speak from base game to DLC, then grouped the rest of it by what it was. Didn't really know about it being particular in that sense. Ive popped in three more mods. the HD protection texture pack, the safehouse by RobCo since it didn't conflict and it was only after adding the other robco ones in did things blow up, the.. URP? one that retextures things, and the ability to sell ghouls body parts. Had three CTD so far, but each of them seems to happen when im in pip boy, drop it fast and pan upwards, like something falls over. I will nab that program and see whats up.

Ok so update-update.

First off i guess I had two NV mods as when i updated FOSE it said they needed falloutnv.esm. So I disable those, I ran Boss, it told me to get a program called LOOT and run that, I did, no idea how to clean things though really, the guide and such is a bit confusing to me. It did however alter my boot order and things seem slightly faster. haven't tested it heavily yet. So far though things seem okay.

The loot program said a lot about bashing files together to fix some conflicts and a bunch of like TIM ITM? errors something like that.

Do not use LOOT to sort Fallout3 mods. It has never sorted FO3 mods correctly. The quickest way to an unplayable game is to use LOOT.

The team that developed BOSS was the same team that developed LOOT. Of course they are going to tell you to use the newest tool they have. After spending hours developing it, who wouldn't. However it makes a complete mess of a FO3 load order.

If you want to check for conflicts, you should download and run FO3Edit. https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/637

And read the training manual. https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/8629

Okay. If only it was as short as a wasteland training manual, hah. Yeah loot confused me more then boss did so I just left it alone. I've added a few more mods in again, one is a heap improver? It seems to have given me better speed, and a static addition that puts a junkyard outside springfield. Might put at max two more in and ill consider it done at this point. Going to stay under 100 as best I can. So far I've gotten a 2-4 hour run in the game without crashing, using the quick /auto save seems smoother doing it that way as well. I will poke about a bit more at it, and update again if anything else grievous occurs

Update v3.

Okay so ran Boss, cleared user metadata out. Oddly the only things with errors seemed to be the game itself the mods had no conflict after removing/fixing the badly arranged ones, but the game itself had.. Well, I don't know what. Played for about 2 hours, found the Nat Guard armory. Went in, and so on, and when i left CTD and a save corruption. Utterly clueless as to what's up, but I believe a total reinstall is in order and make sure it all is installed maybe. The errors seemed to be bash related for the various DLC having conflicts if I understand the message.

Havent reinstalled or anything yet though sucks too. Found Dogmeat, and a unique weapon, few other neat areas. Ran into the commons by accident. Then blip.

Attached is a cap of the mods id like to use /install/get working together, I know a few of them are likely repeats. So narrowing this list down and doing a reinstall in the correct order is what Im aiming for, I know to update Fose/Fomm/Foamy the squirrel, etc. Ive saved my good saves from before I got to the armoury and such and they seem to still work

So, oh wise brains and dealers in all the lovehate that is this game, help if you would be so inclined.

Alternately also, if there are single mods that do the same thing I have put in this cap in multiples that have been assembled or something let me know. This nexus is bigger then the 'Capital' wasteland.

welp i decided to clean the install, did a full delete/ and wipe. Started over using a guide to it, did the suggested tweaks installed the stackheap thing and one or two other things. Running with a handful of mods, and its not even attempting to load now just crashes on the first slide screen.

When you did the uninstall, did you also delete the .ini and save files in "My Documents/My Games/Fallout3"?

Before adding any mods, did you run the game from the "FalloutLauncher.exe" ?

Did you add the mods one at a time, testing each one to ensure the game would start?

I am going to link you to an article that is the best on regarding modding Fallout 3: https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/652876-fallout-3-modding-and-you/

Yeah deleting the save files was a pain had to re install it as GOG had cloud sync enabled it kept reload my corrupted save file over and over. Wound up going through with a file remover tool and got rid of the lot of it. I ran it once it booted right up. As for the adding of mods no I just added them all together so to speak after figuring out the bare minimum. I gave up on that and did another reinstall and used this - https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/23468 along with mod organizer, basically not expecting anything to work.

i did all the performance tweaks suggested with the exception of the NVSE thing confusing me, and a vanilla game no mods, after all that fiddling ran for 2 hours before I crashed, fell asleep and woke up to the fallout music quite an odd experience. The rest of the modlist in this guide I only have interest in maybe 14 or 15 of the mods.

Also adding extra things in that the GoG version had already like the LAA mod that I forgot I had installed, probably wasn't helpful to file integrity.

All seems well! Using MO and that guide above along with the new psoting about mods on the front page, seven and a half hours of gaming, with only one crash because a unit spawned inside a building and something got confused. Woot. Maybe. We will see what its like in 30 hours or so but for now all is well.
