Fallout new vegas ´´service rifles´´ and variants animation glitch

Recommended Posts

Hello, recently I have been playing new vegas for quite a while with mods and recently started using the service rifle, more specific the ´´all american´´ and ´´ the survivalist´´ however both of them present the same glitch, which i will put in the link below.

as you can see the weapon bullet ejector is not in the normal position, and doesnt change even when i shoot, i though it was because of Weapon Retexture Project because it changed the mod textures but tried disabiling it and I still present the glitch, also tried starting a new game (since i installed some mods mid-game and i though they could have damaged the save file) but the problem was not resolved.

What could be the reason for this to be happening?

Also tried disabling all plugins but still encounter the issue.

Have you tried the "Weapon Mesh Improvement Mod"? One of the things it corrects are "case ejection nodes" and "removes useless animation data".

Note that both of those weapons are "unique" versions of the standard "service rifle". (Any weapon with a "name" is "unique" as far as the engine is concerned.) As such they typically have differences in their mesh and texture files from the standard that vanilla animations are based upon. That could be enough to cause the glitches you see. You might also want to try different weapon animation mods, such as "Asurah Reanimation Pack" or "Weapon Animation Replacer (WAR)".

thanks for the reply.

Tried using the weapon Mesh Improvement Mod but it has some incompatibility with my other mods such as WMX and EVE and caused issues in other weapons, besides it didnt fix the issue with those guns.

As for Asurah i have been following this mod for quite some time but havent downloaded it yet as the file list is huge and i think i will get a lot of incompatibilties, still i will try later and see.

edit: tried Asurah and still presenting the same bug.

Download and install FNVEdit. In it load all your plugins and then check those weapons to see if something is overwriting their records. One mod you have installed probably changed the shell casings or something. The bullet or firing nif is set to show at specific coordinates for the different weapons that have different lengths. If a mod changed this then you will have a firing animation happening somewhere other than the tip of the muzzle of the weapon. At least that's what I think anyway.

just checked both all-american and the survivalist .

on the ´´view´´ i can only see green and yellow records lines, nothing wrong i guess. Im not great at using FNVedit as ive only used it to create merged patches.

The only files that affect them are vanilla FalloutNV.esm and honesthearts.esm and the mod Weapons Mod Expanded, so no overwrites from what i can see.

The only mods that i think can mess with weapons (installed) are EVE, Weapons Mod Expanded and Weapons Retexture Project. however i already tried without WRP and the problem persisted.

When you "disabled" WRP, did you then toggle "ArchiveInvalidation" off-and-on-again? Did you try uninstalling it as well? How certain are you that you removed the replacement mesh and texture files it installs and then enabled the vanilla files again (which toggling AI should handle)?

A yellow record line means that the original record is being overwritten by another record. Red means that there is a conflict but some of those may be needed when you have many mods and may not be a problem. So go back and check those two weapons again and see if they are yellow. If so, find out what changes are being made to them. I'm willing to bet you can solve the problem there, though dubiousintent may be correct as well.
