Guest deleted34304850
i dont think its accurate to blame your issues on one mod. your entire load order looks broken to me. it looks chaotic and i don't know how well structured it is. there are several versions of mods installed which is begging for trouble, you're using and no doubt have used 'cleaner' mods to clean up settlement areas which will almost certainly break previs and send your performance crashing through the floor. you may even have removed mods from your playthrough, it's impossible for anyone to tell. here's the thing, if you remove one mod from your game, that game is going to be hosed. thats just how it works. if i were you, i would look to start a new game, with minimal mods. its up to you to choose which mods you want and ensure the following; 1. they work2. they are compatible with each other3. they are installed correctly4. there's little if any duplication of function none of this, however, is a vortex issue. Thanks, I do understand and appreciate your advice, I am going to do what you say and build slowly and carefully. I have installed cleaner mods for settlements and uninstalled them. all I can say is your right cheers Rowyn
rowlando
one last question based on my very poor mod installs and uninstalls, should I reinstall F04 and delete any particular files that may hold past information and delete all old saves and if so what's the best way. I say this to prevent any prior installs or old game saves from problematizing my future gaming. Cheers Rowyn
Guest deleted34304850
you can do that, but you don't need to do that. if you are using vortex, simply select all your mods with CNTL-A and at the bottom on a white panel, select PURGE.When this is complete, go to the data directory in your fallout game directory and make sure its empty. vortex will only purge what it knows about and will leave anything it doesn't know about. if you empty your data directory you're back to where you need to be.after that, go to steam and have it verify the integrity of your game files. let it replace any it thinks need to be replaced.Once done, you will be in a good position to start to mod your game from scratch. i would avoid any scrap/cleaning mods. they are more trouble than they are worth. good luck. sopmac45
one last question based on my very poor mod installs and uninstalls, should I reinstall F04 and delete any particular files that may hold past information and delete all old saves and if so what's the best way. Go to Steam and uninstall your game. Exit Steam once this is done ( 2 seconds max ) Go to default game directory, usually : C:\ProgramFiles (x86)\Steam\Steamapps\Common\Fallout4 and delete the folder or go inside, delete everything, go back to the folder and delete it. Go to C:\Users\<yourusername>\documents\My games\Fallout4 and delete everything Go to your Vortex Download folder and delete Fallout4 content from there too ( DO NOT DELETE your folder per se, otherwise, Vortex will ask you to create it and reinstall it again. You should have chosen this folder when you installed Vortex. Mine is located in : C:\Users\<my name>Documents\VORTEX DOWNLOADS ( this is the name I gave to my folder ) .... Finally go to C:\Users\<your name>\AppData\Roaming\Vortex\Fallout4 and delete everything from there too. Empty your recycle bin and reboot your PC. Go to search and type Fallout4 to find out if you have something left in your PC from that game. Go to Steam and reinstall the game. Play your game via clicking on the Fallout4 icon on your desktop ( you must choose your video settings first ) till you get out of the vault. Save. Go C:\Users\<your name>\Documents\My Games\Fallout4\ and add to your Prefs.ini file, open it with Notepad, and add under [Launcher] bEnableFileSelection=1 and save it Go back and add : [Archive] and underneath, add these lines : bInvalidateOlderFiles=1 and sResourceDataDirsFinal= Add F4SE to your Fallout4 game ( go to www.f4se.silverlock.org ) and add this important utility. Create a shortcut and place it in your desktop. Open Vortex. It may give you a message to reinstall your mod staging folder. Let Vortex CHOOSE its own installation path. It may ask you to fix loose files, go ahead and click on fix it. Once you get rid of messages, go to the Games section and if Fallout4 is not there, click on Scan and your game will show up. Activate the game. Make sure that under Settings / Interface, you have Enable Advanced Mode, Enable Profile Management and Deploy Mods when Enabled ON ( all of the three ) Make sure that in the Plugins Screen, the Auto-Sort function is ON - the lock should be LOCKED. Anytime you enable a mod, Vortex will deploy it automatically and sort it automatically so you do not have to worry at all about running LOOT. If you prefer to run LOOT outside Vortex, then turn the auto-sort function to the OFF position and use LOOT outside Vortex. Do not run LOOT outside and run auto-sort in Vortex. You must decide which way to go. I do recommend to let Vortex to sort your plugins automatically. Finally, make sure that in Settings / Download, Handle is ON ( beside the note that says : MOD MANAGER DOWNLOAD .... and for the heck of it, go to EXTENSIONS and make sure that all of them are on Green. Now, start modding your game.

rowlando
So I followed the instructions cleaned everything as per above and I was careful to ensure I did it properly. I reinstalled from steam played through to exiting the vault 111 saved followed above instructions after this point and then went back into the game. the game crashed when I was checking through some picture frame artwork at the workbench. I restarted and this time decided to try to go further towards diamond city did not do any missions just seen how far I could go. game crashed again about halfway to the diamond city. The only thing I noticed prior to starting my game was that somehow after reinstalling FO4 from via steam there were some game saves added back, I deleted them first. These were showing up in the continue game menu this was at a clean install so this should not have been there. Could this be caused by Steam installer? I had only installed some mods as per below Here is my new load order # Automatically generated by VortexFallout4.esmDLCRobot.esmDLCworkshop01.esmDLCCoast.esmDLCworkshop02.esmDLCworkshop03.esmDLCNukaWorld.esmDLCUltraHighResolution.esmArmorKeywords.esmHomemaker.esmWater Tower.eslAkaSinger.espAkaSingersWardrobe.espAkaSinger-QuieterSoundPatch.espAA Lets Dance.espAWKCR - Mod Power Armor Engine Glitch Fix.espAzarPonytailHairstyles.espclothingoverhaul.espEli_Armour_Compendium.espBetterSettlers.espBetterSettlersCleanFacePack.espBetterSettlersMostlyFemale.espBetterSettlersNoLollygagging.espBlackRoseRedux.espCheatTerminal.espCROSS_MojaveManhunter.espblueteam.espCBBE.espCleanSettlement Beds.espClothingOverhaulSP_XB1_PC.espelicap.espeliface.espELIgASmASK.espELIgASmASK2.espeliGlove.espelisuit.espWestTekTacticalOptics.espeliSunglass.espHomemaker - Streetlights Use Passive Power.espHomemaker - Unlocked Institute Objects.espKSHairdos.espPAMAP.espTowel_Beds.espWestTekTacticalOptics_TogglePatch.espCozy Beds.espAkaWaterWorld.espcartman1975_concrete-glass.espSnappy_HouseK.espCROSS_CharredVaultSuit.espDD_All_the_COncrete.espSnapBeds.espDickys Pinup Outfit.espHACS Feathered Dress.espGrasslands - Healthy.espLooksMenu.espTheKite_Railroad_Handmaiden.espTheKite_MilitiaWoman.espMonnoBikini.espWater Tower.esp Here is my new plugins.txt # Automatically generated by Vortex*AkaSingersWardrobe.esp*AkaSinger-QuieterSoundPatch.esp*AkaSinger.esp*ArmorKeywords.esm*Homemaker.esm*AA Lets Dance.esp*AWKCR - Mod Power Armor Engine Glitch Fix.esp*AzarPonytailHairstyles.esp*clothingoverhaul.esp*Eli_Armour_Compendium.esp*BetterSettlers.esp*BetterSettlersCleanFacePack.esp*BetterSettlersMostlyFemale.esp*BetterSettlersNoLollygagging.esp*BlackRoseRedux.esp*CheatTerminal.esp*CROSS_MojaveManhunter.esp*blueteam.esp*CBBE.esp*CleanSettlement Beds.esp*ClothingOverhaulSP_XB1_PC.esp*elicap.esp*eliface.esp*ELIgASmASK.esp*ELIgASmASK2.esp*eliGlove.esp*elisuit.esp*eliSunglass.esp*Homemaker - Streetlights Use Passive Power.esp*Homemaker - Unlocked Institute Objects.esp*KSHairdos.esp*PAMAP.esp*Towel_Beds.esp*WestTekTacticalOptics_TogglePatch.esp*Cozy Beds.esp*AkaWaterWorld.esp*cartman1975_concrete-glass.esp*Snappy_HouseK.esp*CROSS_CharredVaultSuit.esp*DD_All_the_COncrete.esp*SnapBeds.esp*Dickys Pinup Outfit.esp*HACS Feathered Dress.esp*Grasslands - Healthy.esp*LooksMenu.esp*TheKite_Railroad_Handmaiden.esp*TheKite_MilitiaWoman.esp*MonnoBikini.esp Anything you can see may help me otherwise I will try again, I do have 2 steam locations for my game because my C: drive is not big enough for game, only FO4 is installed on C: Cheers Rowyn
