One handed Crossbow

For dawngard there will be a one handed crossbow? think only a crossbow for both hands, like a regular bow....

It should work like a fireball. so you can equip the crossbow left, right or to both hands (if you have 2 mini crossbows)

I'm not a modder myself but as a huge Diablo fan (as well as Skyrim) I came across this armor mod a few time ago :

http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/21125

which gives kinda awesome results combined with dawnguard crossbows

And now yeah I'm really dreaming about having 1 hander crossbow in both hands and playing a real vampire/demon hunter

To go from picture 1 to picture 2 in skyrim what has to be done?

1) New crossbow model by reducing the already existing one in dawnguard OR a complete new crossbow model (this is in my opinion the easiest part)

2) New animations for 1 hand range weapon (and this is the hard part I think, maybe would need FNIS ..).

- 1 animation for grabing right hand crossbow with right hand (we could imagine they are attached on either side of your belt)

- 1 animation for grabing left hand crossbow with left hand

- 1 animation for aiming with right hand

- 1 animation for aiming with left hand

- 1 animation for standing still

- 1 animation for reloading weapon (maybe we could imagine a system where you reload 1H crossbows by just throwing out an empty cartridge by folding your elbow and drawing your arm closer to your shoulder before aiming again, it would make all the fighting a lot more fluid)

3) Make the game understand the concept of 1 hander range weapon and aiming at the same time in the same direction with two range weapons or aiming with a single 1 hander range weapon

- I would like to to be able to hold my right hand hotkey and shoot with my right hand when I release it while at the same time I'm still holding my left hand key

- I would like to be able to shoot at the same time in the same direction by holding both hotkeys and releasing at the same time

All in all, it's seems to be more the job of someone who is into "animation mods" than just into weapon model creation.

I would really like to see that one day and I think I'm really not the only one, this would be so great.

Great, getting trolled by the damn forum, forcing me to lose a wall of text -.-

Now, what I was saying before I got so rudely intterupted by the forum.

This request is rather simple. It got 2 hardships, however:

1) As said by the poster above me, the animations. It requires a set of animations -- custom animations. Not something a lot of people know how to do, and those who do, does not mod Skyrim. Perhaps if SaidenStorm is still active with his animation work...

There is also the problem with the scripts. You'd have to script each animations to work flawlessly.

2) The logic of it. Diablo III gets away easy because you never get a close look on the crossbows. But if you did, you'd notice there is no mechanism to pull up the string. Now, to get a small mechanism to pull up the string, without using your hands, and without using today-level-technology, you'll have to be an expert dwemer engineer on NASA level. It could be cheated, but the human brain will notice the flaw quite quick, and any observant person will find it looks weird.

Here is an example of what I mean. THese 2 crossbows are by Jeremy Gritton. I quote: "I worked on the modeling and texturing for 2 Current Gen crossbow assets for the Diablo III Demon Hunter Class Reveal. "

In general you will need:

1 decent modeller.

1 decent animator.

1 great scripter.

There is less than 10 good modellers active on this forum, and I know of no good animators. Scripters I assume there is a few, since it requires less time to get into scripting than the rest.

Not trying to be pessimistic here! Just realistic.
