Turjan
I'm probably missing something obvious, but when I install mods that were not automatically downloaded from Nexus, the "reinstall" option (like when I want to run a FOMOD selection again) doesn't work. Can I put these mods into a specific folder so that Vortex remembers where those mod installation files are and runs the "reinstall -> replace" routine? Turjan
OK, I'm using Vortex 0.17.5 on Win10 64 and 32 GB RAM with Skyrim SE. I have a bunch of mods that were manually downloaded and installed via the "Install from file" option. They are in the "unassigned" category. When I click the "reinstall" option in the context menu of the right button in the "Mods" tab, I get the message "Unknown Download" as result (see image). Mods that are downloaded via Vortex give the menu that let's one pick "Replace" or a second option instead, which comes in handy when it's about modifying FOMOD installs. Should I move manually downloaded mods into the Vortex download folder? I didn't do that because someone told me not do that for some reason. Is there any other solution than removing the mod and run "Install from file" again?
rmm200
Don't use "Install from File". That does not create an archive to reinstall from.Instead, drag your archives from Downloads or wherever to the Mods tab drag and drop area.Just verified with a Skyrim mod. Dragged it to the file drop area, installed it, enabled it. The clicked Reinstall. Worked fine. LL mod.
Turjan
Thank you! That sounds like an easy solution. Is there a reason why "Install from file" works differently?
