Real life versus internet

forums are one thing, I have been chatting online for some time now. Yahoo chat and Paltalk, ones I deal with wow, the element of voice chat makes it whole new ballgame of trash. No way in heck this people could ever do this in public. Then you mix yet another element the Webcam, and these people are in their own little world. They need someone to hear them, see them without really any human contact. More often than not it some sort of political room, and they will have some off the wall website proving their point of view. I have only had a few chances to confront some in those rooms that live locally. I had guy cower in front me, I had all that rage, gone. After seeing him, it wasnt worth it to "rip is arms out" or beat him like redhead stepchild. You feel sorry for people like that, made me get more into reality and less on the internet.

Then there are the other ones, you need to drop down a view pegs. Civic duty to help them understand, being arrogant isnt the best way go through life. I have had the pleasure of meeting one those. You would thought, guy of 22-24 might have grown out of this. Whatever might call it, I hate generalize "gangster/ mommy and daddy pays for everything ways. Went to the same school at the time, he some how put 2 and 2 together. Decides to take the chat room world to the real world. Comes up to me, rambling like an old woman about chat room something. Ill cut to chase here, He say is screenname, goes right back at it rambling trash, I believe he forget he was in realty. Nothing to hide behind, and it hits him just the image of the shock that he isnt on has PC. I collected on his arrogants, give him a few things to think on. Nothing else was said, chat room or other wise.

The image on his face, beautiful I can not explain or do it justice on how he looked.... Some of might know what I am talking about....

I believe form my limited dealings with forums they are more civil, at least they have rules.....

With the webcam part, are you refering to those who don't go on cam, but show others pictures of who they ain't?

I still live with my parents (My mum... My dad moved out 2 years ago), but I do give them a cut of my earnings from ALG (Adult Learning - (Payments from College)) and my part time wages. Which is a little under £50 per day. and I work 3 days per week. (Monday, Tuesday, Saturday) All 8 til 3.

I'm asking someone to refer to my post (above the post, that is before this one)- and ask yourself, if its right to discuss these type of people

When online, especially the forums, I try to act as mature as possible. There are things that annoy me which make me want to say a comment to help let off steam, but I know that I would simply get that coment removed and a warning. For example, there are mods uploaded that make me want to smash my head on my desk. Inside I want to post a comment to say "stop making these for a while", but I know that a moderator will remove that comment and give me a strike for "flaming" So, I take my frustration and let it go. It seems internet behavior is more about self-control, rather than who the person is.

I ignore those flamers and trolls in the virtual world as easily as flies, but the buzzing does get to you sometimes. Sadly unlike the common house fly, you can't kill someone on the other side of the world.

Whenever a post angers you, just think happy thoughts of the poster dying ironically at an odd moment. It also helps if you believe in karma, as their bad karma builds up from their negativity the universe will punish the culprit.

Webcam both issue I have come across, most I stay in the political rooms of paltalk. I have found out that that other rooms like late 20s and early 30s are full of that which I posted. I do not need it, ill stay in political rooms with the more civil for the most part people...

No javalin it is not right Even if it is my own post. Taking moral high ground, they can not defend themselves. It was personal exp. meetings those out in the real world only, and there action. There is nothing wrong with living with your parents, you do what you have to do. I was referring to those who need a little wake up check to reality. Mum and Dad are not always going to be there to support them.

My steps to dealing with flamers and people I don't like on the internet:

1. Try to understand where they're coming from

2. Talk to them

3. If they listen, see step 4, if not, step 5

4. Become online buddies with the person.

5. Flame them back if necessary

But NEVER is the internet worth hurting yourself or others over. If you're contemplating it, just get help from an adult that will listen!

Step 6. Ignore them if flaming proves ineffective.

I believe the reason why we act the way we do online is for, as said before, ego. What people say online, whether consciously or subconsciously, they know what they write defines a very general view of who that person is.

Spammers are spammers because in their perspective they are showing they are superior, that they can make a profit cheating the system or get a rush off associating themselves with a part of a well-known group of people - and getting away with it.

Flamers are fascinating to me although I don't like calling them evil or masochists - it's simply not realistic. I can see splitting them into two different categories: the kind who aren't afraid to speak their minds no matter how offensive it may be to others, and the kind that are insecure in normal life and compensate by, in a way, "starting over" or allowing their ego to redefine themselves without that weakness through the anonymity of the internet.

Trolls are an entirely different story. Flamers and spammers have a logical reasoning to their actions, but trolls are the Hungry-Man's dinner pack, republican conservative, Super Bowl type of egotists. It seems that these people either lack a moral standard, or they have a burning grudge against a group of people. To be blunt, they are assholes.

The Internet is like a room full of 400 million blind people. It is too easy to pretend when noone knows anything about you except what you say and what others say about you. And people like to abuse that power.

Here, that will get you banned as well. If you know someone is just looking for trouble, ignore them. If you feel you have been wrongly attacked, use the report button.

The topic of this thread seems useless to me. I mean no offense but let me explain if I can. When I look through the list of mods made for oblivion I see a lot of mods that I think would never be downloaded yet there are those who download them. Wielding a slaughterfish as a weapon seems ridiculous to me but it has been downloaded many times. OH! and if you haven't already, read the description. The author deserves Kudos for that alone. We play games like Oblivion because it is escapism people have told stories, read books, watched TV and movies for ages for the same reason. I personally couldn't see myself flaming someone, I wouldn't start an argument just for the sake of pissing someone off but I wouldn't swing a slaughterfish either. It's simply their way of escaping the world.
