Steam Morrowind relocation issue

May be a stupid question but I have attempted to locate an answer on my own and havn't been very successful. I have purchased a Steam copy of Morrowind , When attempting to use Nexus Mod Loader for Morrowind it states it wouldn't work in a fancy pop up and concludes "if Morrowind is in my programs folder, i may need to move it out of there." such as C: Games/Morrowind . I have done this, but now morrowind will not begin , i even tried opening it directly from that location. i did the same for Oblivion. Nexus also will not open the Morrowind or Oblivion mod loader sections due to issues. How can i make Nexus Mod Loader work for both Morrowind and Oblivion properly is basically the question I am asking. Thank you for your time.

The instruction to move Morrowind by itself only applies to the original older Morrowind on a disk that was much more popular when it was new. Morrowind in steam is a bit different and needs to stay with steam. Simplest is to move the entire Steam out of the UAC controlled 'Program files(x86)' folder.

This will move the entire steam folder including all games to the new location - I use C:\games\Steam

Steam will still be able to find the games, but if you use shortcuts for other steam games, you may have to change them to the new location

Then you may have to either tell NMM the new location - or reinstall NMM

I thank you all for your time , your answers are much appreciated . I have found that my issue was much simpler than i had thought. All i needed to do was rescan for the games with Nexus. I hope you dont feel i have wasted your time as I have been screwing with this for over 3 hours now and that was the fix lol. Thank you again for the replies. Hope this thread may help another lost soul in the future with an easy fix.

If you're going to keep the game in the program files then maybe disable UAC while you install mods, it can cause all sorts of problems because some files don't get installed properly.
