sinisterwaffles
I downloaded a mod called "awesome shader suite overhaul" and it seems have stained my game. By stained I mean that it has literally and seemingly permanently changed the hue on all things to be red. I have since uninstalled it, as well as the ENTIRE game. The problem remains. I have reinstalled Directx and my nvidia drivers, as well as replaced my d3d9.dll file (which it replaced). I am slightly mad, however have no real right seeing as how I could have backed up the original game - or something like that. I would really appreciate some feedback from those that have more knowledge than I. thank you!(example)http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/836/screenshot2bm.jpg/(example)

ginnyfizz
I would advise uninstalling via Steam again. Then put Steam offline so that the files cannot be reacquired whilst you do a thorough scrub of your registry. You can either do this by the regedit command and removing anything that references Skyrim (not recommended if you are not sure what you are doing), or you can Download CCCleaner Which is free and can be configured as to what exactly you choose to remove with it at any one session. Dump any of your saves. Ditch the Skyrim folders altogether. Empty the recycle bin.Move your Steam install outside Program Files, here's how;- Installing Steam in a different location And then download Skyrim again. It will take ages of course, but it may be the only way to do it.
regaverse
So what you are describing is a color or palette change that persists after uninstalling and reinstalling the game. The only things that persist after complete uninstall must be Steam and the graphic card profile settings for the game. Is the Steam folder truly deleted? If not then delete the folder and reinstall (check Steam's website about this - Im not sure what the procedure is) Are the graphic card settings deleted? Check the Skyrim C:\Users\*\Documents\My Games folder - is the Skyrim folder still there? I think the key is the Steam folder - its still got the mod file there.
