EX0DlSS
So I've seen mods that change the moons to have one big moon, and one small moon. BUT I havent seen any that do the same, to the sun, I.E. adding a smaller sun to go with the big one.Now i've used and experimented in the past with the 'moons over mojave mod' enough to realize that all it REALLY does is change the moon textures and namely add a new textures and cycles to the moons called 'secunda' (the smaller moon) there isnt even an esp/plugin its literally just textures zipped up and BAM you got two moons. Now, with this knowledge in place I wonder, how could I change the sun, to give it a twin in the sky. Seems basic enough.Any help with this would be much appreciated. P.S. I would have posted this under mod ideas but seeing as I've already broken down how moon secunda's work I figured it would be basic enough that I could post it here and get it out shortly with proper/basic knowledge/support. dubiousintent
It would seem the basic process would be the same as for a "Custom Item", so take a look at that section in the wiki "Getting started creating mods using GECK" article. -Dubious-
EX0DlSS
What if I took a copy of the default 'sun.dds' texture, modified it using paint.net and copy/pasted the default 'sun.dds' texture within paint.net, moved the 'copy sun' up and to the right a little bit, and shrunk the 'copy sun' by 30%? an example of what I'm talking about: https://imgur.com/a/fRDECYo Edited March 25, 2019 by EX0DlSS
Mktavish
I would say it may be easier to put a moon with the sun. Since the sun is an all powerful light giving source that penetrates everything. And I think it really depends on a single point source for that , and how it moves. Albeit I can't say the moon doesn't do the same thing but with a lot less intensity. It's really just the seems to me method. But I would say , go ahead and experiment with what ever you are thinking ... you'll soon have more knowledge on it than us.
