[LE] Custom Shield Problems

I'm attempting to make a custom shield nif out of the WRJovaskrBanner02. I have made weapon mashups before in nifskope before but not with something as complex as a banner. So I tried the normal way of opening an existing shield, copying the banner into the shield file, saving it out, and placing it in game. Through this method the item shows up fine in my inventory and when dropped on the floor, but in my hand the banner/shield does not appear. I imagine there are more steps to take in nifskope, but I have no idea what. Can anyone please please help?

The safest way and recomended is to open the "dds" (image file) of the shield and edit it with the "dds" of the banner. Actually to make a "NEW" dds file (your image file) that you will use - add - apply in your "NEW" shield.

* Replace the shild's dds with your new created dds file.

It sounds like you've got the mesh you need, if it looks ok on the floor. You have created your shield in creation kit and pointed the world model section to it, but did you create a new armor addon and point the male and female views to it, as well? Also, don't forget you need to drag that Armor Addon into the shield's form, to let the game know where to look for it.

Yes I did create the new armor addon with the nif I created and assigned it properly. I even adjusted the nif in nifskopoe to something other than the banner. It appeared fine then. It's something to do with the banner nif structure I think.
