stikky
Okay, i had a copy of oblivion, installed it, used mods, everything worked fine. Then the disc got broken, and i bought another. i did a clean uninstall, through the method on this forum, and then re-installed. However, when i go into the data file, everything is in .bsa files. i used mod manager to extract and everything, but whenever i try to launch any sort of oblivion(including vanilla with no mods), it causes a ctd. I spent 3+ hours trying to fix it, but it's not helping and i feel like :wallbash: Any ideas?
Ethre
Everything is in .bsa files? As in there are "Oblivion-Meshes.bsa""Oblivion-Misc.bsa""Oblivion-Sounds.bsa""Oblivion-Textures-Compressed.bsa""Oblivion-Voicesa.bsa""Oblivion-Voices2.bsa"? If so, that's normal. That's how the game is supposed to be set up. You do not need to extract them -unless you need to access them for a mod, and then they do not normally get extracted to your Oblivion/Data folder. Also, if you did a completely clean install you will not have any mods remaining.
Lisnpuppy
I had an issue like this...turned out that I had not gone into the folder where your save games are and deleted all of that stuff. Double check!!
stikky
Wow.... I just tried opening up Oblivion with no changes to before, and it magically worked!!! I think that it was something to do with the video card though, as a message came up, saying that the video card couldn't be recognized, and that it was reverting to default settings. Anyway, thanks for your help and time :thanks:
