Controlled Folder Access Detected

Hi,

 

Since the last update (0.17.8) I got this message, when I click on more, it say to change the windows defender settings. I'm not using windows defender and I have not access to the setting.

My av(bitdefender) has a protected folder fonctionality, I've added an exeption to vortex and nothing has changed, still have the message.

Even if I disable the safe file functionality, I still got the message.

I've tried to install a mod and everything seems to work but I wanted to share this in case someone got the same problem.

thanks for letting us know - we've tested your use case and the Controlled Folder Access feature must have been enabled prior to you installing BitDefender, in which case the setting remains enabled in registry, fooling Vortex into thinking that it's still active. Unfortunately BitDefender completely removes the ability to change this setting from the Win Defender screen which can be annoying as the notification will not go away.

 

What I suggest you do is add an exception for Vortex to your BitDefender's protected folder functionality and ignore the notification for now (this will be fixed in 0.17.10 and above)

 

Please do let us know if your AV is still blocking Vortex even after adding the exception.
