shane375
I made a retexture of a WMX weapon but did not want to replace the original so I copied all of the texture and mesh files (into a new folder within the original folder) and edited those then went into G.E.C.K. and made all of the 1stPerson objects. I then duplicated the weapon and changed just the base mesh file and 1stPerson object as well as each for the corresponding weapon mods with the updated texture. Now I thought all of that would lead to a perfectly functioning weapon but yet when I use the weapon in game and attempt to modify it, I get the "this weapon cannot be modified" prompt. What in the world am I missing that would cause this to happen!? Is it the fact that I only modified some files to be independent while the others are still dependent on WMX? I can't imagine that to be the case since every other function of the gun is working, but there doesn't seem to be any other reason why this would happen. I'm sure I'm overlooking something obvious but any help would be appreciated.
shane375
Nevermind, I solved the issue. For anyone else that has this problem, for some reason the .esp decided it no longer required the WMX master file and so it could not find the mod items. The simple fix was just find and duplicate these mod items so that they were included in the .esp, though they still depend on icon images from WMX.
