So with NMM had never had any issues with SKSE working, that's now been about a year+. I came back to wanting to play / mod skyrim and now SKSE won't launch at all. I've checked load orders etc etc but all i get is a diagnostic log of a failure to launch program.

I'm at a loss for how to get it to work at this point. I've tried everything from just wiping all saves / mods etc and it won't launch. the DLL files & launcher are in the same folder as the .exe & data scripts are in the data file. Nothing seems to work. ( yes i've unblocked it from firewalls / run as admin ).

I may be missing something, but I know it's not supposed to be this damn frustrating to get it to work, when I had damn near broke the game 2yrs ago from using it along with 200+ mods to test the limits of my PC.

I have to exclude my game folders from being checked by my AVG Antivirus for the 'on-the-fly' checking of files as they are opened. AVG was knobbling my EXEs and DLLs.

Ideas:

Update your PC with latest patches

Check your antivirus

get the latest skse

Thank you

pretty certain my PC is 100% up to date minus my razer gear patches. this has been an ongoing issue since i first tried to play skyrim again back in January. I will check my updates to make sure and reply back with info. All of my antivirus software has excluded the files & window Defender. so nothing should be blocked at this point.

and of course i have the latest SKSE

EDIT: Updates did nothing.

Seemingly Fixed. I've done this method at least 5 times, by allowing programs through my firewall / defender. finally get it to launch SKSE properly after going thru and allowing litterally every single file through my firewall / defender. no clue why the hell it took so long but it's fixed.
