FierceNova
I'm in the middle of building a dream PC.This is the meat and potatoes so far. - Radeon 7970 Quadfire aka x4 GPUs- Rampage IV Extreme Motherboard- 64 Gigs RAM- Intel Core i7 Extreme Edition Proccesor "Latest" How well will this run Skyrim ENBs? In total with all the parts above and not mentioned I'm looking at 8 grand for this build. This is my first time building a PC and I've done a lot of research. I am a huge fan of the Elder Scrolls andwant to push the game as far as I can. If you need to know more I can list the other parts. Thanks everyone! :D
kenny19923
Hey What will your main uses be for this computer it can't simply be for skyrim. What is your monitor setup? resolution? 64GB is going way overboard there is absolutely no game that will ever use that amount of RAMthe most ram i recommend is 16GB. If the PC is mainly for gaming i suggest something like the Z77 chipset.but if you dead set on x79 go with what you've chosen and lower the Ram. I also i doubt you will need 4 Graphics cards i would suggest max 3 but 2 of the latest graphics cards will be sufficient. You need to remember the Computer Parts are always getting better, theres no point in spending 2-3 grand on Graphics cards and then a year down the line selling them for a grand in a year just to spend another 2-3 grand on more cards, having 4 cards is gunna need a lot of power to maintain as well as having 64GB of ram. Also bear in mind that you will want a Graphics card with at the least 3gb, i would recommend a 4gb. REMEMBER even if you have 4 graphics cards with 2GB VRAM each, does NOT mean your going to have 8GB or VRAM you would still only have that 2GB from the 1st card, it does NOT add up. Lets just say that this is for mainly gaming you would run all games at max with this system: Z77 MotherboardI5 Ivybridge CPU - if your overclocking get the 2500k sandybridge as the I5 ivybridge has a high temp output and doesnt overclock well.16GB RAM2x GTX 680/690 4GB or 2X Radeon 79701000W Power supply - Make sure it's a good brand (Corsair, Seasonic, etc) Kenny Edited August 9, 2012 by kenny19923

samv96UK
I use an Alienware x51 with nowhere near as good a spec as the pc your are building and it runs Skyrim like butter on ultra settings at around 50-60 FPS. I used sharpshooter's extreme graphics for a little bit and my FPS was still running at around 50. So, basically your computer should run Skyrim on ultra along with any ENB like a breeze.
