  1. Hi CrimsonDragon, I've just got back from travelling around Europe, hence the silence from me whilst I was away! :P I'll be posting updates back on The Lost Isles thread now that I'm home again. Sam
  2. Generally okay so far, nothing is broken... yet! (lol) I've pretty much just been working on level design so it's hard to mess anything up really. The world is smaller than Rochebere is but is packed full of clutter to give a life-like feel to every area. I've uploaded some images below to give you all an idea of what I've been getting up to. http://static-2.nexusmods.com/15/images/110/4286516-1434543020.jpg http://static-3.nexusmods.com/15/images/110/4286516-1434542942.jpg http://static-5.nexusmods.com/15/images/110/4286516-1434542990.jpg http://static-5.nexusmods.com/15/images/110/4286516-1434543076.jpghttp://static-2.nexusmods.com/15/images/110/4286516-1434543140.jpg
  3. Thanks for the post Glennzzor, stupidly didn't think to post the information here so thanks for doing it for me!
  4. The Isles are a collection of small landmasses located slightly west of High Rock.
  5. I think it's decided then- The Lost Isles first then try to fix Rochebere afterwards. At least this way I don't feel as though I'm disappointing people! Cheers for the responses guys.
  6. Thanks for the replies, I'm glad to hear your opinions!
  7. Hey everyone! Little update here (well kind of an update, more of a question to the followers and fans of my work- you lovely people!) I'm nearly done with my college studies so in a months time I will have lots of free time to devote back to the modding community, something that I have been unable to do realistically over the past 9 months. Because of the lack of time I've had to spend on modding I've still not found a resolution to the Rochebere issues. However, I am here to make a suggestion to everyone who has been asking for Rochebere for so long now- it's not as good as this project unfortunately, but it is the next best thing I can offer. You may or may not have heard of The Lost Isles, a smaller new lands and quest mod that started it's life as a back-burner mod while Rochebere was my main work. I'm here to get your opinions. Just from looking at the stability of the mod files, as well as the size and ambitiousness between the two mods, the likelihood of The Lost Isles being released in a playable state before Rochebere could be completed is almost indefinite. If I were to focus the time that I would spend trying to fix Rochebere on The Lost Isles mod you would not only have something to play sooner, but I would have a sense of satisfaction knowing that I have not completely let you down. Whereas if I were to do the opposite and pour my time into fixing Rochebere I can imagine it would be a much longer wait for either mod. From my own perspective I would like to work on The Lost Isles, as I feel I would rather work to give you an outcome than work on trying to fix a bug and not progressing any further in terms of development. One thing I would like to say is this does not mean I am giving up on Rochebere, it simply means it will be left untouched until The Lost Isles is completed. As I have said, I know the path I would prefer to take, but ultimately I would like to hear what you all say, since at the end of the day your enjoyment and the fun you have playing my mods is why I make them. Thank you very much for reading, and if you have any questions please do not hesitate to post here or send me a direct message. Sam :)
  8. Update time- good news and bad news! I've still been struggling to find free time the past couple of months, but the good news is in the past few weeks I've been able to set aside some time to make some more advancements with the game-breaking problems I've been having with Rochebere. The bad news, however, is that I'm led to believe the problem is coming from the .esp (mod file) itself rather than the just the worldspace. I have reason to believe this as every time I try to make a new worldspace and generate LOD for it something goes wrong- namely worlds can no longer be entered without the game crashing or if they are the LOD is very glitchy. One example is that the land LOD would not go below a certain height. There was a section of the new map I made quick had a fairly deep valley but the LOD was making a lot shallower than it should have been. It's strange as I've never had these kind of problems in other .esp files (i.e. The Lost Isles). This is a very big problem as, if this is the case, I will literally have to start the mod from scratch. Slightly depressing news, but regardless I hope to push on and find a way around this!
  9. Hi everyone, long time no speak! Sorry for the silence over the past few months- to tell the honest truth I've had very little spare time altogether, let along time purely set aside for modding. I'm hoping to revamp my progress over the next few weeks, and I'm thinking of seeking help from other talented mod authors to speed up the process. I hope you all understand- I am genuinely sorry for building hype for so long and failing to meet those expectations. Hopefully will post here again soon with good news, Have a nice weekend! Sam
  10. My inbox is probably full, a I'll clear it up a little then shoot you a message!
  11. What I'm doing at the moment is trying to recreate a worldspace similar to the original using cut and pasted static references, as well as adding in/changing areas that weren't perfect before. It's very annoying to say the least, but that's what I'm currently planning. It's one of the only options since I discovered this bug waaaaay after it first appeared, so reverting back to an old copy of the .esp would result in me losing more work than it's worth. Thank you for the support everyone! As far as I'm aware the problem is the cause of the problem, but it's not something that can be fixed by regenerating. For example, when the LOD is deleted so that the default Skyrim world map loads the game does not crash, but the custom LOD world map does cause the crash. Unfortunately, no matter how many times I regenerate the LOD nothing changes. So I think it's an underlying problem with the worldspace that only becomes a real issue when LOD is generated. Thanks for the suggestions anyway! I could do, but I have a feeling other modders such as Alexander J. Velicky would have also made threads if they encountered this problem. I will probably start doing beta tests nearer completion, hopefully when I've ironed out some of the creases so that it's a bug ridden mess like it is at the moment! Thanks for taking an interest in acting for Rochebere! I don't actually have any lines for that mod at the moment, but I do have lots of roles that need filling for my other mod, The Lost Isles, which will probably be released as the first of the two. I'll shoot you a PM later if you're still interested? Sorry for the wait GAWDLeader, I haven't looked at the thread in quite a while.
  12. Sorry it's been such a long time since the last update everyone! I've not really got a lot to show in terms of progress since I haven't been working on the mod over the last few months for a few reasons. One of them is time- since last week I was still sitting my exams, so obviously the time I had leftover was very minimal. The second, and probably bigger reason, is the fact that I still haven't been able to solve the issue where the world map crashes when loaded from interiors, and I believe the only way to fix this is by recreating the entire worldspace from scratch  . So subsequently I've been putting off working on the mod even when I do have time so that I don't have to deal with the problem- rebuilding Rochebere Valley in a new worldspace will take at least 2 months, probably longer knowing my obsessiveness with changing things that don't necessarily need changing as I want them to be perfect; I would probably end up completely re-designing the layout of the map. If it's not too much trouble, it would be greatly appreciated if anyone who reads this could give me their opinion on the matter. Should I leave the mod as it is, but prone to crashes when loading the map from interiors? Or should I effectively start the Rochebere Valley worldspace from scratch to solve this? So yeah, that's a long-story-short of why there haven't been any updates. Hopefully you all understand, Sam
  13. Yes! I am still working on Rochebere as and when I can. The biggest problem for me, however, is time. I've got exams next month at college so I need to be studying for them a lot of the time at the moment. On top of that I also have my job and social life in the mix so this leaves very few hours a week to mod. I should have more time when it gets to my summer break though! The other issue is one I mentioned a while back- the fact that the map crashes when opened from interiors that have been loaded from the menu/save game list. So pretty much whenever I have time to work on the mod I spend trying to solve this bloody issue, when I should be working on quests, dialogue etc at this stage. So yeah, I am still developing Rochebere, but there's a lot of other factors affecting it's progress at the moment. I'll keep you all posted here, just let me know if you've got any questions!
  14. Truth be told, I've been doing the opposite of what I said I would be- I've been working on Rochebere again these past few weeks. However, this is only because I've encountered some pretty serious issues in it. With any luck I can get them sorted and put Rochebere out of my mind for a while to get The Lost Isles complete.
  15. Going through a pretty rough stretch in development... Getting some pretty serious issues all over the place. One of the most serious is an immediate CTD when the player tries to access the world map from an interior that has been loaded from a previous save. After 2 weeks of trying to find the source of the problem I've had no success whatsoever. It's been so bad that I'm considering dropping these two years of work. I just hope that I, or someone on these forums, can discover a solution so that this isn't the case. Fingers crossed people!
  16. Unfortunately I haven't, I'm finding this such a big issue to tackle (I even went as far as to begin creating the worldspace from scratch only to find another similar issue, wherein I physically could not generate land LOD for the world). This is getting so bad I'm actually considering dropping Rochebere, a whole 2 years work.
  17. Hi, I'm in serious need of someone's help to sort out a horrible bug in my Rochebere mod. I can barely bring myself to carry on working on the mod when I know it's got issues this bad in the file. You may have seen my post on both the Nexus and BethSoft forums about the problem, which you may as well read here to save me explaining again. If I can't find a solution to this then I don't even know if I'll bother carrying on- I haven't put in 2 years of my free time into this mod to see it thrown away, but with a bug this bad I feel like there's no point even continuing. If there is anyone out there who knows an expert cleaner that might help me understand what's gone wrong here then I'd be in your debt. Thank you for your time. Sam
  18. Sorry to make a bump, but does anyone know? Would hate to have a bug like this in the released mod but if I can't solve it then it will have to be that way!
  19. I've come across a particularly irritating bug while developing one of my mods, and would be very thankful if someone who may have experienced something similar knows why it is happening. I have a fairly large custom worldspace that is also the parent worldspace of a couple of smaller worldspaces. To put a long story short, there are a lot of interiors that can be entered and thus share the same LOD map. Everything is fine if I go into an interior and open the world map- it opens and works as desired. However, if I make a save in that interior, quit the game, then restart Skyrim and load the save, the world map will not open. The game will simply CTD without warning. I cannot understand why this may be happening, as I am working on two worldspace mods simultaneously and the other does not have this problem. It seems to me that the game does not remember which worldspace you entered the interior from if you quit and reload, thus causing a crash when it cannot figure out which LOD map to load. Any suggestion entirely welcome, I can try and explain better or upload a video if anyone thinks it will help them understand. Thank you! Edit: not sure if it has something to do with my land LOD, when I generate it in oscape the "target of max. resolution" is '256000 (1/2 of 666 per tile)' instead of '256000 (1/1 of 1000 per tile)'. Could this strange generation type be what's causing the issue?

Oh bugger, I forgot about that! Might have to find a workaround to make sure you don't get transported to the abandoned shack when you sleep after recieving the note.
  21. Just cleared up my inbox a little, I'll send a reply shortly!

You're the people I'm making The Lost Isles for- the people who have been waiting for Rochebere for so long that I feel need something to keep them entertained during the development of the big one. Hopefully within the next couple of months.
  23. Good to hear that you're all excited to play The Lost Isles! I'll treat you all to some more screenshots tomorrow so keep your eyes peeled for them. At the moment I have around 8 or 9 average length quests planned and partially scripted. These are the main focus of the mod, as I do not plan to add any side quests. The Lost Isles is pretty much just something 'small' to please people who have been eagerly waiting for Rochebere. Despite the lack of fully fledged side-quests, there are other activities you can partake in, such as upgrading your own settlement by adding more buildings and merchants etc. Apart from the start of the first quest, all of the new content is based in The Lost Isles. That's correct, I wanted to make the player feel like they were completely cut off from the rest of the world to add to that theme of oppression and poverty present in the questline. Hopefully it does the trick!
