antstubell
Tried to fit as much info into title. I've made a mod using Dawnguard architecture and actors. It is going to be an interior cell within a Skyrim mod. I will put a notice saying "Only enter if you have Dawnguard DLC". This won't deter many players - what will happen if they go in without DG? Is there a way I can lock the door and do a check to see if their game has DG?
Lisnpuppy
You need to make your .esp dependent on the Dawnguard file. Using Wyre Bash (Smash) is one way to do this. Another is in the creation kit I assume and you use the assets in the CK putting them into your .esp but if they do not have Dawnguard the mod won't work. There are several places to get more info on this but I do not have the links right in front of me. I am sure someone more qualified will be along to help you more! Good luck. AlexanderJVelicky
Make it a master, then if they don't have that master (Don't have DG) the game will crash upon starting until they disable your mod's esp. If you don't make DG a master of your mod, it will load regardless, but any place where a DG model is used, it will be a giant red diamond with an exclamation point in it, signifying a missing model or texture. antstubell
I'm thinking its a bad idea to include DG in a Skyrim mod. Making a cell dependant on DG but publishing it as a Skyrim mod is counter-productive. I will move the cell to its own .esp to avoid any problems. Thanks for the advice. Dawnguard is not playable WITHOUT Skyrim..it isn't a separate game. *grin*You may wish to read up on the Wrye Bash information to help you.
