Campaigner
I want to make an NPC sit on a ledge, simple as that. I have the ledge marker, I have the ledge, and I have the npc's custom AI package. I've tried the following ai packages; - Sittarget- Sit- Useidlemarker None of these work, and he either stands still or appears in a place completely different from where I put him. I've tried Navmeshes as well, but he just walks to the edge of where I want him, and stands like an idiot. How do I force him to sit down?
missjennabee
You could try a sandbox package, with the REF being the ledge marker and a radius of 0. If that doesn't work, might just have to try finagling the location of the ledge marker a bit if it's in an area that is a bit hard to reach... It's tough to make them sit sometimes lol been there myself. Might just require a bit of experimenting to see what sticks in this particular instance. Campaigner
Thanks for the quick response. Unfortunately, your suggested method with the sandbox didn't work. I think it just might be where I placed him, because the ground is just a floating prop, not actual land.
icecreamassassin
Have you placed navmesh to where he has access to reach the object? You could also try the sit invisible object furniture piece, but it might look a bit odd since the person's feet are clearly on the ground based on their possitioning
Di0nysys
Set the ownership on the marker itself to the NPC your trying to get to sit. Dunno if this will help 2 years later lol. But I was just looking into the same problem. IF all else failsSet a linked ref from the marker to the NPC. That way they will use it for sure. Hope whoever stumbles on this finds this useful. About 5 years later, I stumbled upon this post from google, and it was very helpful. Thank you so much. <
