Vortex plug ins copying and not able to be sorted

I was changing the load order of my mods in vortex and all of a sudden in stated creating copies of the mod file all over the load order, it now wont let me drag anything over to disabled and is a complete mess. Is there and easy way to clear it out completely and start over? I can't get it to do anything.

Why were you trying to drag / drop your plugins ? Haven't you read the Knowledge Base built into Vortex or haven't you read any thread related to that issue here in this forum ? Why are you trying to do things in Vortex that are not necessary anymore and only applied to NMM ?

 

If you want to learn Vortex and if you are intended to use it as your only Mod Manager, you're going have to completely divorce from NMM and totally forget what you did before in relation to your plugins and do all the mod conflicts and plugin sorting, the way Vortex does it. If you insist doing it your own way, then you are going to have a very bad day with Vortex, not because the program does not work, but because of you trying to force Vortex to do things in a different way.

 

You have to understand that you DO NOT have to change anything in Vortex. In your Mod Section the only thing you need to do is to resolve mod conflicts if they appear ( Vortex will prompt you by showing a red bolt to the mod is conflicting with other(s) ). Then in your Plugin Section, the only thing you need to do is to turn on the AUTOSORT function and Vortex will sort your plugins automatically.

 

If so, forget about the Plugins and focus on resolving your Mod Conflicts if any and that's it. You do not have to worry anymore about drag / drop and even though that is possible with Vortex, I would not recommend to do it. Learn Vortex first, learn the basics and once you feel very familiar and comfortable, you can explore that, but I am pretty sure that you would not do it once you see that Vortex is doing things right and much better than if you decide to drag and drop.

 

Go read the Knowledge Base and I recommend to search and read all threads related to what you are asking. You will find very important information not only about that but to other things that will help you to understand the whole picture. Obviously, if you belong to the group of people that not read at all, then you are negating to yourself how to learn this new program. Don't read = ignorance ! Read = knowledge. It is up to you !!

Are you by chance trying to mod Morrowind or PoE2?

 

If yes, where's a bug in v0.17.8 that is fixed in the test-branch v0.17.10. To download the test-branch, in Vortex under Settings - Vortex, "Update", choose "Testing". You'll need to re-start Vortex before the new version is downloaded.

 

If you don't want to use test-version you'll need to wait until next time Vortex "Stable" branch is updated.
