Jakryptonite
For me, my least favorite hold would be Falkreath. There does not seem to be any significant importance to it, any real quests that go along with it. If it was wiped out of Skyrim, the only thing I would notice was that it would be harder to achieve "Oblivion Walker". It also seems to be quite empty. What do you guys think? tetradite
All of the holds without a "proper" city (by which I mean, boring vanilla farmhouse buildings, no player home etc) would make my list for one reason or another. They all feel like afterthoughts or just places to dump guilds (Mages and Dark Brotherhood) or quests in for no particular reason. I think the lack of true individuality to Falkreath, Winterhold etc does more than anything to make the game feel unfinished. They all could have added a lot to the game if given a little more flavour and purpose. Falkreath, to me should have been darker, and have deeper woods. A grim town of a dark fairy tale nightmare, plagued by wolves and worse. Something dark should lurk in those forests. Architecturally probably leaning more towards Germanic than Norse. Morthal should have it's swampy nature played up more. I liked the vampire angle they gave it, and the swamps themselves are some of the best looking areas in the game, but the town just doesn't look right plonked on top of them like that, it looks like an afterthought. Sticking some walkways in front of the same old farmhouses does not make it a swamp town, it's just half-assed. Dawnstar and Winterhold I have less specific ideas, but really just varying the architecture so they don't end up less interesting than Riverwood would have been nice. I know Winterhold has the college, I know, but that doesn't 'connect' to the town in any way visually. And ALL of them needed a player home. They don't even need huge amounts of quests or extra locations throughout the hold, just individualising the main hold towns and giving the player a regular home in them would have made the world of difference.
