GrimFlux
Hey guys, I was playing Skyrim earlier today, when I saved the game using Quicksave, and it just crashed to the desktop without any warning or error message. Now when I play, I cant save in any way, including Auto-save and it has completely ruined the game experience for me. Please, if there's any way anybody can solve my issue I'd be eternally grateful <

There are some mods that can conflict with Dawnguard saves, i had this problem and sometimes i have to load the autosave rather than quicksave. GrimFlux
Can you try saving with a new character? Use full save, not quick save. Also, what patch are you using? There are some mods that can conflict with Dawnguard saves, i had this problem and sometimes i have to load the autosave rather than quicksave. I made a new character and I was able to save with all 3 methods, Quick, Auto and Full. I am using the most recent patch available (1.7?) I'm aware some mods can conflict, and I've already disabled the official HiRes packs and a few others that may have caused issues, but seeing as this was an issue mid-game, I'm not sure how the mods would have been a problem. Is there a list of well known mods with issues?
cycloney911
Problem is that the script can get bugged and be stucked, example, a bus moves and stops at the train tracks, the train can be seen as data going through while the bus is another data but frozen thus the cause of CTD, the train can't pass through because the bus didn't move which results in a wreck, aka CTD. One way to fix this is by reloading previous save, going back in time where the bus might have another chance of cross the tracks. Hope that make sense... I had this problem twice but i keep full saving every 20 minute or so. Edit: Are you accessing a certain area which causes the crash? GrimFlux
Yeah as far as I've experienced, it only crashes in Whiterun, whenever I get any kind of save, but to be fair I haven't tried saving outside of Whiterun. Bah, this sucks :( So i should just keep reloading and trying again?
cycloney911
I hope you are using NMM instead of manual download for mods. Try running SKSE (Latest) as Admin with mods deactivated, this sometimes work for me. One of the mods that affect Skyrim heavily, especially after Dawnguard is the "Skyrim Redone". I hope you aren't that far behind!
GrimFlux
Yeah I'm using the Mod Manager for my mods, well, that and the Workshop combined. Yeah that seems to work...but no mods :( which means I lose a lot of my content regardless :( May have to just start again :(
cycloney911
If it did work then try saving in a different place then test out if you crash when you load the save. If you didn't crash then activate the mod which you believe would less likely cause crashes. If you are using Skyrim Redone then i understand of starting a new game, that mod was a *censored* after Dawnguard. taitai907
Everytime you start a session, reload any save. You should be good until you start another session.
