SKSE and 1.7.7.0.6

I've been trying to closely watch for the next SKSE release, but it's yet to come out.

" SKSE will support the latest version of Skyrim available on Steam, and only this version (currently 1.7.7.0). When a new version is released, we will update as soon as possible; please be patient."

And I'm okay with that. I'll patiently wait for their next update.

However, I have an issue:

How in the world is everyone else waiting? By my understanding, if your version of Skyrim updates, this effectively shuts down all your mods that require SKSE to play properly. I just recently returned to Skyrim (as did many else, I imagine). I have no mods installed that explicitly require SKSE, but I do have several I wish to install that do require it.

Is there perhaps something I'm missing? I just don't see enough people talking about the next SKSE version. Is there actually a way to run SKSE on current versions of Skyrim on Steam?

The current version of SKSE 1_05_11z will work with the current version of Skyrim 1.7.7.6 . If you have patched to 1.7.7.6 then download the current version of SKSE.

I have that installed, and yet I still get the version error when starting it (either through the folders, or through NMM)

I'll try and troubleshoot it though. Maybe I've got some weird remnants leftover from past versions. This would explain how quiet everyone is on it, though.

That was exactly the case. I had a few remnant files from earlier versions of SKSE that were causing the error.

Thanks for the response, Shadow. That helped me figure it out.

What were the files? I've tried reinstalling the .pex and .psc files, still get version error.
