Stop Lydia setting off traps

I enter the dungeon and obviously there is a trigger plate on the floor ahead of us . I carefully sneak around the plate watching for enemies and suddenly I am hit in the face by a spiked swing gate, Blood everywhere. I turn to see if Lydia is ok and there she is smiling at me and standing in the centre of the trigger plate!

 

I have tried adding the Light Foot perk to her using addperk.

In consol I selected Lydia and typed “addperk 0005820C” and it didn’t come up with any errors but she is still setting off the traps. Have I done this right?

Is it even possible to give a follower a perk?

Have I got the code wrong?

Is there a way of finding out if she has the perk enabled?

Can anyone please help?
