Oblivion Mod Defaults

I just was discussing another mod & it lead me into this idea.

How many times have you played a mod & all of a sudden you see the big ! missing mesh sign or purple textures?

They are there so that you realize your missing something & you should probably read the installation instructions before dumping everything in the data directory next time.

Or contact the mod creator if that doesn't help, but what else can you do?

You can go into the console and disable all the bad; stuff but that is lame because what if the creator fixes the problem & includes the missing material in the next version? You then would have to re-enable all that stuff.

Here is the idea:

What if there were defaults for missing stuff (items & textures)?

For instance; I have a cool new quest mod with a bunch of neat stuff including an armor set but I forgot to pack it into my mod before I uploaded so instead of putting the big ! in everyone's game it dresses you in striped prison clothes or a pink tuxedo.

The same would go for weapons & everything else the game couldn't find, it would replace it with these default items.

The idea is to replace the big ! with something else that allows us to know something is missing without such a distraction.

If someone were a genius & could figure out how to have the missing armor name on the prison clothes (where the number usually is) that would be really cool.

Same type thing for everything else. a scroll would be colored red & have the missing scroll name of it, a bed would be colored red & have the missing bed name of it, etc..

Maybe a single color for all defaults could be agreed upon for standardization.
