Deleted4610270User
The original Skyrim had a bug that caused shadows to flicker, appear/disappear because there was a limit as to how many light sources canm be seen at the same time. I don't remember if that had something to do with ENB, but what I want to know is whether this has been fidxed in Skyrim SE? It was a major immersion killer for me. Skyrim SE was built on Fallout 4 edition of Gambro engine and Fallout 4 didn't have such fliklering with mods that enable dynamic shadows.
c0ax599
I got to speak up here. No, it's not fixed. I dunno if "shadows flickering" is the right terminology. If you're only talking about that, shadows seem fine in SE to me. What I am, and I think you're talking about is a part of a room, where you see a dark patch, and when you look at it from a diff angle, it suddenly lights up. I've been fighting with this problem, seen it on others mods, and in trying to make my own mods. What I've figured out, due to all the reading i've done and personal experience, is it's too many lights, and where they're placed. My mod with smaller rooms helped me figure this out. Say I have 4 lights in a room, and it shows a darkened floor ref (or 3) in a room (and the floor ref is outlined), then that's gonna be a spot where that can "flicker" on and off in game. Adjust your lights in the ck till you can't see that darkened outline, and it'll be ok in game. I know this is so frustrating in trying to properly light your mod. I've been fighting with it. And, I do not know what lights are the best to use to minimize this. I know not to use too many omni-directional lights, but others seem to cause this effect too. If any one else can shed more light on the best way to deal with this or add other ideas... Please Do.cx599 Example.See the outline? That's gonna flash on/off in game depending on what angle you look at it from. Moved lights, gonna be ok.. But of course, maybe not like I wanted it... :\ Edited April 28, 2019 by c0ax599
Deleted4610270User
Yeah, this makes no sense because Skyrim SE is based off Fallout 4 engine and the issue IS fixed in Fallout 4...
Tryn
Its not 'fixed' because its not a bug, its a 'feature' of how lighting and shadows are calculated by the renderer. I believe the limit is 4 shadow-casting lights per TriShape.
