Remove a Shrub

Yo, so I noticed using the disable command on a specific shrub model helps my performance significantly. I know it would reduce realism but I already disabled grass so that isn't a problem for me. So I am wondering if anyone would be kind enough to make a mod removing the shrub from the game, I bet others would want to use it too.

Also if nobody wants to do it for me, could someone please help me to do it as I have only made a single mod ever and it was for oblivion. I was thinking something like replacing the mesh with a blank one or something, but I wouldn't know how to do that nor do I know what the file-names for that shrub would be, etc....

The shrub in the picture is the one I am talking about but there is also a slightly bigger and very similar looking one too which I also seek to have removed...

Oh and sorry for the image quality, I had to use a program to lower the quality because it was 2mb...

Try this, think I got the ones you're after (and their snowy equivalents)

Thanks, it works as I thought... Kudos for making my game a bit smoother!

No probs.

For what it's worth all I've done is completely deleted the following objects through the Object Window:

TreeDeadShrub

TreeDeadShrubSnow

TreeThicket01

TreeThicket01Snow

One of the TreeThicket01Snow objects was apparently in use by the DA06 quest, so I replaced it with a TreePineShrubSnow before deletion. So with this esp running your Skyrim just literally doesn't even know those objects exist.

Why didn't I think of that? I guess it's because I don't mod much, I mean like I said I only ever made a single mod :P Nonetheless thanks.

I took the request because I've always wondered if you COULD just delete objects like that without ending up with errors (red triangle disease) game just crashing on load etc... but I'd never got around to trying. Just making it up as I go along as usual, not HUGELY experienced myself

  • 1 year later...

The first link that you sent won`t open, can you send it again

Tetradite said in his post (written more than a year and half ago) right before yours that he was just about to delete the dropbox link, because he'd uploaded the file here on Nexus. It's the same file, it's still here, the Nexus link he gave will take you to it.
