vandorssen
Make sure ou are using the most recent (but stable) version of the driver for your video card. If your system has an integrated video chipset, you may need a seperate video card. Also, make sure you are using the latest version of DriectX. vandorssen
If your monitor connection is near where you keyboard/USB/printer ports, etc. are, you likely have an integrated video chipset; If the video connector occupies one of the expansion slots, then it is likely a seperate card (although that is not always the case). Another way to check which video system (and exactly what video chipset) you are using is to go in to the Windows Device Manager. Then visit the website of the manufacturer of the video device (or if you have a Dell, HP, or some other mass market system, visit their site) and download the latest driver... If you can, look for something called WHQL Certified; that means that the driver has been tested by Microsoft for stability. Here is a "snap-shot" of the device manager screen on my system under Windows 2000. I have the video adapter selection expanded and circled in red.
