Forgotten1337
yes, i entered the lines as follows: [Papyrus]bEnableLogging=1bEnableTrace=1bLoadDebugInformation=1 Does it need to be in a certain order like after [MAIN] or can it be anywhere as long as it doesn't break up the other sections? xlcr
CaptCShadow, i did a few quick searches of the net looking for an older version of Open Cities Skyrim (Steam, TES Alliance) no luck, looks like the modder removed access to earlier versions. You might try substituting a dummy 'ARTH_OCS_WhiterunGateLockScript.PEX' script file to trick skyrim into continuing to load your old gamesave. After all, all you're trying to do is get back into your old gamesave so you can gracefully uninstall some of these mods right? Might have some luck reporting your issue in the comments section of the mod and hope for a response from the modder.Open Cities Skyrim by Arthmoor - http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/8058(ask if the modder will kindly unhide the old versions in the download section).Again, i am only assuming this particular script file is from this mod. Forgotten1337, be sure you are editing the SKYRIM.INI located where your 'saves' folder is located.Your skyrim.ini file should already have an existing [Papyrus] section, don't add another. Forgotten1337
Well... After reading your posts I've pretty much looked at every folder i have related to skyrim. The only ini file that i can find with those options is a file called Skyrim_default and that is in the skyrim folder in the steamapps common folder; which isn't even anywhere near my save files. I wonder if it's because i have the game through steam or if a mod has changed something that makes this impossible.... it's all very frustrating... xlcr
Forgotten1337, hi, if you're having difficulty navigating your windows drives with explorer, try using the windows explorer search box toolbar to find skyrim.ini, select your systemdrive (usually C:). you can try pasting this into your windows explorer navigation toolbar:%systemdrive%\users\%username%\My Documents\My Games\Skyrim i know this can be confusing sometimes, skyrim is just using the default goofy microsoft windows username account profiles libraries 'My' this and that architecture which i think isn't exactly logical or user friendly. don't mess around with the Skyrim_default.ini in your skyrim application install folder. CaptCShadow
How do you create a dummy script? Do I just type that script into a certain file?
xlcr
CaptCShadow, fyi, this is just a longshot troubleshooting idea, might work.. to summarize, i'm suggesting you try extracting a pex file from the open cities bsa mod to use it as a substitute to trick skyrim. get a BSA archive utility, i usually use this one: BSAopt v1.6.3 by Ethatron - http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/41042launch the BSA utility, browse to your copy of 'Open Cities Skyrim.bsa' and unpack the loose files/folders (BSAopt sticks them in an 'out' folder), goto the 'out' folder and pick one of the PEX script files, maybe 'arth_ocs_whiterunhousedoorscript.pex', copy this to your '\skyrim\data\scripts' folder and rename the file 'ARTH_OCS_WhiterunGateLockScript.PEX'. now, hopefully when you launch skyrim and load your old gamesave file, skyrim will bypass the error reported in the papyrus log; but, i'll bet you'll get another error when it can't find another missing Open Cities Skyrim mod script file from the old version.anyway, since you're determined and assuming the above trick works, you'll probably have to repeat the debug logging and substituting fake PEX script files until you can at least get back into your game. the object being, to create a clean salvageable gamesave without those old mods still embedded. please note, i do not know how you're going to properly get rid of and uninstall Open Cities Skyrim, i think the previous version of Open Cities you were running permanently embedded scripts into your savegame.you're probably going to need to contact the modder for help since you didn't keep a copy of the old mod version.i guess, try following whatever uninstall procedure the modder documented.. i'd suggest that once you actually are able to load your old savegame, travel far far away from any city that mod changes and make a game save; then, exit the game and try to disable and uninstall that mod. Open Cities Skyrim is an intrusive overhaul mod with lots of fancy scripts and alters lots of objects in the game world, this is the kind of mod i usually stay away from. CaptCShadow
I gave this a try, though it has made no change and I still cannot load my previous. I think I did everything correctly.
xlcr
CaptCShadow, hmm 'no change' meaning you enabled debug and got the same exact errors logged like before; or,do you get new log entries with skyrim moved on and discovering another different missing script file?just wondering lol. Forgotten1337, be sure you are editing the SKYRIM.INI located where your 'saves' folder is located.Your skyrim.ini file should already have an existing [Papyrus] section, don't add another.i too have had HUGE troubles with this Open Cities mod, as you can read in it's comments section. a person at Gamefaqs gave me some advice i wanted to try...http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/615805-the-elder-scrolls-v-skyrim/63848469"you could try reinstalling the mod, loading the save, going into an empty cell and saving in a new slot, then quit, uninstall the mod, and reload save, go into another empty cell, save there, quit, reload the latest save and see how that goes."ut the vesrion of the OC mod was an older one i got on july 27th. so i contacted the mod author but he didn't give me the old version . do ya think making a dummy pex might help me? i can load saves but cites are really messed up now.
