pitt78
Sorry if this is the wrong forum. I wanted to know if I unpacked a mesh from the skyrim BSA would that screw up my game? Sorry if its a dumb question but I didn't know if unpacks the actual mesh I select or a copy.
tetradite
I don't know what tool you're using to unpack, but it's pretty safe to say that no you're not going to screw up your game, it will unpack a copy.
Perraine
If you intend to do some editing, as a workflow/safety point, I'd suggest extracting the files to a separate sub directory, such as "Working" or "Temp" or some such, then when your finished you can copy it over (or save as) to the "correct" directory, so that 1) you've always got an original copy as backup and 2) you can safely delete this file without wrecking anything. BetterTejbz
As long as you're just extracting and not altering the BSA or overwriting another file it shouldn't matter where you put it since it presumably wouldn't be being called or referenced by anything. Using a different directory would be less cluttered than Skyrim's Data folder but that's the only benefit I think, an aesthetic one.
