C1P2D3
as the title said I try to find a way to bring FO3 animations (Mostly the DLC animations) into FNV with the groovatron like the Storyteller series did it. It would be cool if could help me with that, Cheers,
dubiousintent
Friendly word of advice: You cannot port anything legally from any other game. See the official response in the thread 'Fallout 4 music' which is a similar "port asset" request. However, if this is strictly for your personal use (which means "No, you can't share it with or give it away to your friends"; that's "illegal distribution") no one is likely to come after you with a lawsuit. (And the RIAA has shown that no one is "too small" to bother suing.) That said, Please see the 'Animation' section of the wiki "Getting started creating mods using GECK" article about what is actually involved. -Dubious-
C1P2D3
Ok look first of all thank you yes I am aware, second I make Fallout Machinima ok that said I just wanted to have more animations for my machinimas no more no less because the animations of the Fallout 3 DLC´s are extremly good for machinima. Also as I said If you know the channel shoddycast and the Storyteller machinima Lore series they had Fallout 3 animations in FNV completly legally as it seems. I just want to know how they did that thats all. I am not intending to break the rules of this website or even of the copyright laws, I just want more possible ways to make machinima. madmongo
Are you aware of Fallout TTW (a Tale of Two Wastelands)? Fallout TTW is in kind of a murky area, legally, but Bethesda is aware of it and hasn't actively tried to shut it down. If you install TTW, a legal copy of FO3 is required since TTW copies assets from FO3 and modifies them for FNV. TTW therefore does not include any copyrighted assets itself. However, since it is used to create a derivative work, that makes the legalities of it a bit less clear. So far, Bethesda is allowing it to continue, for what that's worth. I wouldn't make the claim that it is 100 percent legal, but if you want to port anything from FO3 into FNV, TTW is your most legal path for doing so. Before heading down that route, though, you might want to check to see if the animations you want are actually already included in the FNV files. There are a lot of unused leftovers from FO3 in there that the developers never bothered to take out. The Nexus is a bit cautious about TTW content, due to its somewhat questionable legality. As Dubious said, though, if this is for your own use and you do not release it to anyone else, then you can pretty much do what you want.
